"THE WORLD TURNS ALL AROUND HER"

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Andromeda: Season Four: "THE WORLD TURNS ALL AROUND HER"
The crew enters The Abyss and are led to an apparently final showdown with Tyr, which leads Trance to reveal her true identity to Dylan.

So Tyr turns out not only to be a bit nefarious
but to have been really, really,REALLY Evil as
well.I mean only a really Evil person would have
betrayed his "friends" the way Tyr tried to do.

This ep. also marks the beginning of Telemachus
becoming a regular member of Andromeda's crew.
The opening credit segment was reshot to show
Telemachus with the rest of the crew.

Ok,anyone else a bit confused by Trance turning out to be an Avatar of the Sun?Whatever that means!

Great Dylan line:"You save all those other universes and leave me to save this one." to
Trance at the end of the ep.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK:
"I know that whine." -- Tyr regarding Harper

CONFUSION OF THE WEEK, PART 1:
I started watching Andromeda again with the episode "Shadows Cast By a Final Salute". I thought it was an excellent episode. The show definitely turned itself around since its huge decline in season 2. I've been intrigued by the progression this season. The show seems to have a direction.
Here's the problem: Their direction is REALLY confusing. Avatars of the sun, routes of ages, universes where consciousness is in control, etc. It gives a guy a headache.
Confusion can be good, but not to the point where the episode becomes incomprehensible.

CONFUSION OF THE WEEK, PART 2:
Was the portal shown in this episode supposed to be the Route of Ages or was it something else?

MISSING QUESTION OF THE WEEK:
When Trance introduced herself as "avatar of the sun", shouldn't Dylan's first question have been "Which sun?"

CHARACTER DEVOLUTION OF THE WEEK:
They really ruined Tyr here. When he left in "Shadows..." and then I learned of his impending return I thought, "Excellent. Now we have a villain who may not be entirely good or bad." Sadly it was not to last. Tyr turns out to be a really nasty guy. The only thing he has going for him is that his ultimate goal, destroying the Magog world ship, is a noble cause.

LAME SPECIAL EFFECTS OF THE WEEK:
The portal was really lame. It looked like something out of a laser light show. I know this show doesn't have an Enterprise budget but come on!

QUALITY REPLACEMENT OF THE WEEK:
When season 4 started I thought, "Wow, the cast is dwindling pretty good." I realized a replacement for Tyr was needed, but I couldn't think of anyone who would fit in quite right. Fortunately the creators found a good candidate. Telemachus Rhade brings instant conflict because of his ancestor being Dylan's former first officer. The only downside is that Bacic's performance is less than stellar.

WISHFUL THINKING OF THE WEEK:
I would have loved to see the reincarnation of Gaheris Rhade. Perhaps some aliens found his body and reanimated him (like in Voyager's "Ashes to Ashes").
