Tell me that's not an intriguing title for an episode.
It's Got to be about Faith
Mark: March 25th was a Saturday. Could you mean April 25th?
Mark's original About message read Airs Tuesday, March 25th.
So how short is the actress who plys Faith if she has to wear such big, clonky-heeled shoes? Although those big, heavy shoes do explain why her kicks hurt so much.
Wolfram & Hart are back. I wonder who, or what, is on the other end of those phone conversations?
So did Angel bite that woman after he got his soul back or not? It looked like their might have been a red spot on her neck, but I wasn't sure.
Keith, I couldn't find Eliza Dushku's height anywhere. As for the woman, she clearly brushed some bite marks on her neck, but Angel couldn't carry it through.
I wonder if the writer originally created Wolfram & Hart because of the Wolfe & Byrde, Counselors Of The Macabre comic strip/book?
Actually the past scenes seem to be like the TV series "Forever Knight". I agree though they seem to be tagged on for some reason.
This was an excellent episode. I'm glad they acknowledged the Watcher/Slayer relationship between Wesley & Faith. My sister's fiance must be psychic-he predicted next week's episode before the trailer ran!
Joss Whedon agrees with me that Faith is a strong character. I'm hoping Angel can build some strong characters of its own.
I think that the flashback scenes were kind of
confusing at first 'cause they really didn't appear to have anything to do with what was actually happening in the episode with Faith.
Loved the ending, especially the fact that Angel
was willing to let Faith beat the stuffings out
of him,he could have torn her apart any time he
wanted, but he just stood there and let her work
out all her guilt and anger until she broke down
and cried.
Speaking of guilt,Wesley showed some himself not
only because he was her Watcher but also he was
the one that unwittingly let her free the first
time.
Wasn't Wesly Faith's second watcher? I seem to remember that her first watcher was killed by Mr. Trick.
Actually, I believe Faith's first watcher was killed by the ancient vampire Kakistos (sp?). And since Faith was forced to watch it, probably her first really big mental trauma that helped in sending her over the edge.
In a way, Wesley is her 3rd watcher, but since the second one wasn't a real watcher, it doesn't count.
I still remember the first time Buffy and Faith meet wesley. I'm paraphrasing, cause I can't remember the whole thing.
(Buffy Meets Wesley)
Buffy: New Watcher? Is this one evil?
Wesley: Pardon?
Buffy: The last one was evil.
(Faith meets Wesley)
Faith: Who's this?
Buffy: New watcher.
Faith: Screw that (walks off)
Buffy: Why didn't I think of that?
Didn't Giles act as Faith's Watcher until a new one was assigned?
1. 1st Watcher (did she have a name?) - Killed
2. Giles - Interim Watcher - Temporary, but I believe authorized
3. (forget her name) - Fake Watcher (actually an ex-Watcher) - Dead
4. Wesley - Assigned Watcher - Fired
Just as well she went rogue, KAM, no other watcher would have taken the job with that resume.
Superb episode.
I think that by the time Faith came around, Giles had already quit being a Watcher. He's still not a Watcher to this very day. Wesley was the assigned Watcher to both Faith and Buffy, apparently.
No, Giles quit in the episode 'Helpless' about half way thru S3. Faith had been there since about the third episode 'Faith, Hope and Trick'
No Giles was fired
The bit where Faith beat up the guy, then took his jacket and money and key, would have been much better if she hadn't explained afterwards that now "she had money, and a place to stay". Hey, we got that already! We aren't dumb (unless Riley is watching, too)! But I really liked it that the guy didn't exactly try any bad moves on Faith, because she's just the kind to beat up people for no good reason, and it's no good making her look too nice.
I also liked Faith dancing in the bar. It was really nice to see what a Slayer could do if she didn't use her powers solely for the public good.
The W&L lawyer in the courtyard looked a lot like Pierce Brosnan's James Bond.
Cordelia said that when Angel was happy, his usual dark face wasn't as dark as usual. Excuse me? When he was happy he became Angelus!
When Angel got his soul back, with his hair all around his face, he looked EXACTLY like Antonio Banderas in Desperado!
In this ep, they spoil quite a lot of good jokes. Angel talking about a dumb Englishman kidnapping Faith, for example, is great, but Cordy then ruins it by explaining the joke to make sure we get it.
Seeing Faith and Cordy face to face really makes you think about Cordy's supposed age.
This Angelus stuff is quite interesting, but it doesn't quite fit into the rest of the ep. It really doesn't. Unless the ep's topic is "no matter how bad you are, you can always become a part of society again." And they do seem to stress this point. But I like Buffy and Angel better when they don't throw their messages into the viewers' faces.
Where did Faith learn her torturing methods? Perhaps she invented them herself, but she sounded like she quoted from a book. It's not really something Giles or Wesley would have taught her.
When Angelus escaped from the Alley, muttering "I can't, I can't", was anyone else thinking of Spike?
Next time Faith escapes, I have a tip where to look for her: in all shops that sell those really tight leather pants.
All in all, a great ep. Keep the Faith!
Apparently the point of the Flashback scenes refer to the Faith/ Angel Relationship. Angel feels a need to rehabilitate Faith, due to his own century long attempts at redemption. He was in the same place where she is now.
Didn't Giles act as Faith's Watcher until a new one was assigned?

3. Gwendolyn Post
Thanks.
