Psst, there are some nits for this ep in the Offspring board, Mark.

Nit for Lullaby

Despite the pouring down rain, the baby was dry in the close-up.

Maybe Nit for Lullaby

If some "power" is protecting Darla's baby, wouldn't that protect her as well? If Darla is killed before the baby is born, that doesn't really help it does it? If so, how was she able to kill herself?

Of course, I guess it could be argued that because the Baby was able to live on it's own, the powers were taking care of two birds with one stone. Let Angel's son live, and kill Darla who would have lost her quasi-soul and probably killed her own son.

I really liked this episode, and Darla's ultimate sacrifice. It really makes you realize how horrible becoming a vampire is. Darla's soul may have to suffer for the actions of her mind and body.

Observation for Lullaby

Angel is pretty bad luck when it comes to lovers. His two greatest loves have both died.

TWICE!

What are the odds of that?

Well, that was a real ‘blimey!’ moment – I’d not seen that coming at all. It’s such a delight to occasionally not know spoilers to an episode, and Darla’s sacrifice was as much a shock as when Dr Romano lost his arm in a recent episode of ER and I’d had no warning about it in advance. That’s the only problem with being a nitpicker – I do tend to know what’s going to happen in advance, so it was great that nobody had spoiled this one for me.

I keep wondering:
Why exactly did Holtz let Angel walk away? Did he formulate in his head the plan about raising Connor already? Or did he had a moment of compassion?

I assumed that it was the latter. Or maybe a little of both.
