As I write these comments, "The Price" hasn't aired yet where I am. I read in the preview on the WB website that in this episode, Wesley learns of the coming of "The Destroyer" who is supposed to be out to kill Angel. My guess is that The Destroyer is the person materializing in the hotel lobby at the end of the episode teaser (the "surprise"). I'm also guessing that The Destroyer is Angel's son Connor, all grown up and raised by Holtz (and/or others) to eventually kill Angel. Those who are familiar with how time passes in various dimensions in the Buffy/Angel universe shouldn't be surprised if it turns out that Connor has been in a dimension where 1 year passes for every 1 week in Angel's Earth dimension. I could be wrong, but from the moment Holtz took Connor into that other dimension, I figured that the only way this thing was going to play out was that Angel would eventually get his son back (otherwise, what was the point of introducing him?), but that there would be some problem or negative consequence ("The Price", perhaps?). I think that Angel and Connor (a.k.a. The Destroyer) will have some sort of a physical confrontation, probably on a rooftop, at which point the dialogue will go something like this:
Angel - Holtz never told you what happened to your father!
Connor - He told me you killed him!
Angel - No! I AM YOUR FATHER! Search your feelings! You know it to be true!
The two will shortly thereafter reconcile, and they will start rebuilding their relationship.
A great episode hopefully someone will figuire out only bad things happen whe nyou use peowerful magic, So is Conner the destroyer or the CGI creature.
The CGI creatures were running from the Destroyer...so Conner is the destroyer
What an amazingly bad episode. Deux Ex Cordelia? Army of Darkness? Did not everyone see that end coming?
Kai- The "lobsters" were running from the Destroyer. When it was obvious that the Destroyer was about to arrive, a different CGI creature (which looked, in the brief glimpse I got of it, rather like Species 8472) appeared, to be followed (and killed) by Connor. This is the creature Hammer was asking about. Having said that, however, I agree that it is obvious that the Destroyer is Connor.
