another good episode, Why would holtz choose a way of death that looks just like a vampire's bite? does he want to cost one last bit of trouble.

Obviously. At least that's what I got out of it, too. I also wasn't surprised to see Connor attack Cordy when she turned her head after telling him that she was part demon. It too, was only obvious. Cool power she's got now, the ability to do "soul colonics", like she did on Connor.

By Keith Alan Morgan (Kmorgan) on Tuesday, May 14, 2002 - 5:49 am:

Holtz has a full head of hair, but is missing his beard & mustache? Given how bad Cortoz is supposed to be why did he take the time to shave his beard & mustache?

Angel says, "They don't need to breathe..." Hmmm, did the writers get tired of all us nitpickers saying, "Wait if vamps don't breathe...?"

Shame that neither Lorne nor Cordy knew that the original definition of Demon was "anything between Man & God." Angels are technically demons. In the old days the distinction was between Cacodemons (bad) & Eudemons (good).

Is it possible that Holtz isn't able to grow facial hair? I wouldn't know from personal experience (being female and all!) but are there some men who are naturally clean shaven?

By Anonymous on Tuesday, May 14, 2002 - 1:26 pm:

Did Holtz actually instruct Justine on how to kill him, or just to kill him? Maybe she did the two puncture marks on her own?

By TomM on Tuesday, May 14, 2002 - 3:51 pm:

No, as Justine was withdrawing her weapon from the first puncture, Holtz did say something to her (I didn't record it so I can't quote it) which indicated that the framing of Angel was part of his plan.

Usually when a man stops growing hair it's on the top of his head, margie. I've never heard of a man losing the ability to grow a beard & mustache.

By margie on Wednesday, May 15, 2002 - 11:32 am:

I just thought maybe he never had the ability to grow facial hair to begin with. (I'm rather ignorant in the biology of men.) I've seen men who appear to be middle aged, escept that they look like they never have to shave-their skin is so smooth. Maybe Holtz was like that, I dunno.

By KAM on Thursday, May 16, 2002 - 5:45 am:

Holtz had a beard & mustache ever since the character appeared. A lack of beard & mustache in this episode (I missed last week) made me think he was a different person at first.

By margie on Thursday, May 16, 2002 - 11:21 am:

Oh, okay. I haven't been paying close attention for a few months now. (I've been listening while it's on, but doing other things.) I've probably seen him, but never made the connection. Never mind! :)

Perhaps it was the only way he could assert his humanity in Quortos? Or pehaps the dimension affected him in some way?

KAM: In Greek maybe. You are correct though. Angel, is actually a occupation, not a species, and demon is from the Greek word "demekos". However, it would be sort of like talking about "burning a fagot" (Setting fire to a piece of wood), as demon has come to mean "Nasty Spirit"

So, Fred and Gunn already know that Connor has inherited his daddy's strength, yet it never occurs to either of them that he might have inherited vampire hearing?
