Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Angel: Season Three: Tomorrow [Season Finale]
May 20.
By Mark Morgan-Angel/Reboot/Roving Mod (Mmorgan) on Monday, May 20, 2002 - 11:14 am:

Well, sure, after having Monday off for three weeks in a row I am due to be working for the season finale. Slept through the X-Files yesterday, while I was at it.

Still have tomorrow night off to watch Bad Willow Rising.

All I can say is Huh? I did not see the ending with Cordeilia coming at all, and I have no idea where they are going with it. This Finale did do one thing it makes me want to know how they are going to sort this stuff out. It is a very odd direction to go with the show.

By MarkN on Monday, May 20, 2002 - 11:36 pm:

That's what I thought. That's probably what tons of other Angel fans thought, too. My title for the ep is "Cordy Goes Up, Angel Goes Down". When the demon told Cordy all she had to do was say yes who didn't expect her to say no in defiance and that'd be the end of the test? No doubt she'll return next season, I think as Angel's, well, guardian angel. Also, where the heck was Dennis? I expected him to make some small appearance at Cordy's place. Did he suddenly decide to go to the light? If not, Cordy could've escorted him there.

By Keith Alan Morgan (Kmorgan) on Tuesday, May 21, 2002 - 4:43 am:

Now we know why Cordy went blonde. Angel is attracted to blondes.

Cordy has become a higher being? Euphemism for Charisma finally has a movie career???

So what happens to Cordy's car when time restarts? If Cordy's not in control of it, won't it crash?

Cordy's accension reminded me of an issue of Spawn where various dead people were traveling through the afterlife & some of them thought they were being lifted to heaven, but instead found themselves stuck in cages to be kept by various entities as some humans keep birds.

I wonder if Glowing Cordelia™ will be showing up on the Buffy Season Finale? (Dark Willow vs. Glowing Cordy, only on pay-per-view!)

Is Charisma leaving the show?

By Hammer on Tuesday, May 21, 2002 - 2:03 pm:

I have seen the rumor of her leaving at the posting board at www.buffy.com and www.buffyguide.com. The rumor is she was unhappy on the set and the episodes she was not in she was boycotting. Again I have no way of knowing if this is true but I have seen it in 2 places.

By KAM on Wednesday, May 22, 2002 - 4:00 am:

Well, Cordy wasn't on the Buffy finale.

I have no idea if Charisma is or isn't leaving the show. It just seems that if she becomes this super-powered higher being she would just be too powerful for most villains we've seen on the show. (Actually I just assumed Fred was originally brought on the show as her replacement.)

I thought the finale was kind of lame. Nothing made sense to me, and it was a bit boring too.

What bothers me about Wesley's storyline over the past few episodes, including "Tomorrow", is that Wesley has yet to tell Angel and the others that when he took Connor away from Angel, it was not his intent to give Connor to Holtz. Angel and the others seem to be under the impression that Wesley had arranged to hand Connor over to Holtz, because Lorne (the Host) told them that when he read Wesley's mind as Wesley prepared to leave for good with Connor, he read that Wesley had been meeting with Holtz. However, we know that Connor only ended up with Holtz because Justine intercepted Wesley outside of his house, tricked him into lowering his defenses, sliced his throat, took Connor (to later give to Holtz), and left Wesley for dead. Additionally, though my memory may be incorrect, I believe Wesley had been meeting with Holtz initially to try to convince Holtz that Angel was no longer evil and should not be Holtz's enemy, and later to try to insure Connor's safety. Wesley was wrong to just take Connor without telling any of the others of the prophecy interpretation (which turned out to have been the result of a prophecy forgery). However, I'm sure that the reason Angel and the others won't even speak to him (except for Gunn when he needed Wesley's help to help Fred) is because they think Wesley intentionally handed Connor over to Holtz. Why wouldn't Wesley clear this up? Even after Angel tried to strangle Wesley in the hospital, the better course of action would have been for Wesley to explain his side of the story, rather than just isolate himself from the group.

By Ryan Whitney on Thursday, June 27, 2002 - 12:05 am:

One thing I forgot to add to the last message is that the fact that Justine sliced open Wesley's neck wouldn't necessarily show Angel and the others that Connor was taken from Wesley against Wesley's will. The neck injury could be interpreted by Angel and the others as having been the result of a double-cross (i.e. Wesley lived up to his part of the bargain, while Justine & Holtz didn't).

By Janna on Saturday, June 29, 2002 - 8:15 pm:

Hmmm... I think you have a point. Haven't really thought about the gang's actions that way. Probably because I've been so darn mad at them for treating Wesley that way.

At least Gunn's reactions have been totally uncomprehensible. I've always thought that when two people bond over something (like a little thing like fighting back to back against fiends from hell), they stay friends. The way Gunn just lost all interest in their friendship after Fred is just insane. Why on earth is no one questioning Wes' motives???

I just hope Lilah will fail with his plot and Wes will somehow remain relatively sane after everything.

By Hammer on Saturday, June 29, 2002 - 9:18 pm:

I agree the writers seemed to completely forget about the bond between Wesley and Gunn. That is kind of frustrating hopefully they will fix this next season.

By Ryan Whitney on Thursday, July 04, 2002 - 2:59 pm:

I still think there's a possibility that Wesley sees himself as a double-agent (still strongly on the side of good), with respect to his recent involvement with Lilah Morgan. I think Wesley may be trying to redeem himself in the eyes of Angel, Cordelia, Gunn, and Fred by ultimately doing some serious damage to Wolfram & Hart.

Or maybe he was just horny as hell and she was available.

I guess we'll find out next season.
