This episode is called Calvary, not Like Father, Like Son.

Well, well, well, what can that ending mean? Does it mean that what we thought was Cordy returned wasn't at all? Has the Big Bad been disguised as Cordy all this time? Have her various 'bad decisions' & 'mistakes' have been part of a master plan? Hmmmm?

Here's a wild guess at stone guy's boss: The First Evil

By Richie Vest on Thursday, February 13, 2003 - 6:15 am:

Of course now it makes sense She was whom the beast was refering to when It said "The answer is among you." She was the one who killed the one guy in Gwen's panic room and gave Gwen and Angel the "Micky Finn". That's the reason why she had sex with Connor. She was the one who stole Angel's soul. Now the question is it "the big bad disguised as Cordy" or is it, dont be surprised if it is by the way, simply Cordy

By Richie Vest on Thursday, February 13, 2003 - 6:20 am:

Good guess Kai but remember what The Beast was doing he was giving his boss a weapon and was that not what Cordy used to kill Lilah. The implication is that Cordy is the "big bad"

By Michael Conlon on Thursday, February 13, 2003 - 7:33 am:

I think that it is Cordy, but she now has a split personallity that the original one doesn't know about. The split also has the ability to send thoughts into the mind of the original personality.

Somebody refresh my memory, please: has Cordelia ever given a reason for her sudden return to Earth at the end of "The House Always Wins"? This could have some bearing on her turn to the dark side. Or if this is, in fact, the real Cordelia.
Here's what really has me stumped: Cordy clearly doesn't want Angelus to know that she deliberately freed him, or that she's hatching an evil plot of her own. Anybody have any guesses as to why...?

By Josh M on Thursday, February 13, 2003 - 2:11 pm:

Alright, did anyone not see the Angel really being Angelus thing coming? I have to give Kudos to the creators. I didn't see Cordy's evilness coming. I think that the Big Bad is possessing her which might mirror the First's influence over Spike on "Buffy."

I also think that the First is the Big Bad that the Beast is serving. Angel vs. Unstoppable Minion mirrors the Buffy vs. Nearly Unstoppable Minion on the other show.

Also a kudos to the creators for mentioning the orb of Thesulah -- and why that method would not work on Angelus this time

By MythicFox on Tuesday, February 18, 2003 - 5:32 am:

Well, I have a feeling that the Beast's boss is one of the Powers That Be... or something on that level. I imagine it got to Cordy through her visions, or maybe it's just been controlling her all along.

I just keep thinking about how Angel was brought back at the beginning of Buffy Season 3 by the First, and he was completely out of it for a while.

Now the same thing's happened to Cordelia.

I hope that all of the vampires are still outside on their little rampage when/if the sun comes back out. I would like to see that scene.

So, it was the First that brought Angel back from Hell? I haven't seen most of Season 3 of Buffy yet. :(

By Matthew Patterson (Mpatterson) on Sunday, February 23, 2003 - 10:13 pm:

It has never been stated who or what brought Angel back from Hell. Given that he underwent untold centuries of torture there, I am inclined to think that the First would want to keep him there if at all possible, and the Powers That Be were responsible for bringing him out.

Or sunspots.

Well the first can't be posing as cordy as the first can't touch anything making the grinding with conner... well difficult to say the least!
