Orpheus

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Angel: Season Four: Orpheus
By Keith Alan Morgan (Kmorgan) on Thursday, March 20, 2003 - 4:06 am:

This was the title listed in the TV section of the paper.

The knife seemed to hit the door a little too high. It could of hit Willow in the head if the door wasn't there, but that might not have been a fatal blow.

Funny scene Willow & Wesley comparing evils.

While it was cute that Willow thought Fred was a lesbian, I did wonder how much time Willow had spent with Angel & co. when she told them that Buffy was dead. She would have met Fred then.

Great dialogue:
Willow:What have you been up to?
Cordie:Been on a higher plain,and you?
Willow:Ultimate Evil.

It's never really explained how and why Faith is in Angelus' memories, nor how Angel in the final
memory scene is able to react with them.
Perhaps the fact that Willow was able to locate
Angel's soul has to do with the later?

Why does Faith suddenly start to bleed in Angelus'
memory?

By Darth Sarcasm on Thursday, March 20, 2003 - 3:28 pm:

I don't think it was ever explained how Faith was in Buffy's mind at the end of Buffy Season 3. Perhaps it's simply some Slayer ability. Or maybe it has something to do with the blood. Did Buffy receive a transfusion from Faith while Faith was in her first coma?

By KAM on Friday, March 21, 2003 - 5:10 am:

Orpheus is a magical drug & since it was in Faith's blood it probably linked her to Angel/Angelus' memories.

The early bleeding was probably just an internal manifestation of what was going on externally. Her mind knew she had suffered injuries and as her body worsened she noticed she was bleeding in the 'flashback world'.

Angel interacted with them probably because it had to at that point. Angel's comment to Angelus about it not being about him, implied to me that this flashback was to help Faith, and at that point it had to act.

If my memory is correct, Willow telephoned Angel Investigations (Angel & co.) to notify Angel & co. that Buffy was dead.

WGN in Chicago switched to war coverage during the last 5 minutes of the show. The last thing I saw was Conner on his way to kill Angelus. What happened?

By KAM on Monday, March 24, 2003 - 6:41 am:

He killed him and the series is over.

Just kidding! ;-)

Conner knocked out Gunn. Faith came out of her coma and raced downstairs and fought with Conner then locked herself in the cage with Angel. The others showed up and it was proved to be Angel this time. Willow said goodbye and left with Faith to go back to Sunnydale. Then Cordie came downstairs and everyone saw she was pregnant.

I think your memory is incorrect Ryan. I remember Angel & co. returning to the hotel after coming back from Lorne's dimension and when they walk into the lobby, there's Willow.
The phone call was next season when Buffy was brought back & then Angel & Buffy had that off-screen reunion.

Why is it so hard to have parallel storylines? Both shows have many of the same people running them (well, a few.) And the scheduling obviously isn't too much of a problem since Faith will appear on both shows, Willow is going to show up on Angel next week, and Angel is going to appear in Buffy's finale. - Josh M (from the Salvage board

As it turns out, the next new Buffy is going to have Willow getting a phone call from Fred and going off to Los Angeles (which has already happened on "Angel").

Now can we see how difficult it would be to coordinate parallel storylines on competing networks?

By MythicFox on Tuesday, March 25, 2003 - 4:40 am:

Maybe Willow saw a bit too much of herself in Fred, and maybe was just getting that out of the way in case Fred kept becoming more like her (if that makes sense, the way I'm wording it).

Maybe Faith's 'coma-jumping' is something that only the most recent Slayer can do... I know, nothing to back that up besides that one episode of Season 3, but... it's something.

By Hammer on Tuesday, March 25, 2003 - 7:21 pm:

Actually Willow went in person to tell Angel about Buffy's death, she was sitting in the lobby when Angel and Co. returned from Lorne's home dimension.

Ah, it was just those time-altering demons from Dead Things playing with our minds. :O

Faith does a beautiful move when fighting Connor. He rushes her and swings with what looked like a roundhouse punch; she spins in the centre of it without even touching him and he goes flying off balance and crashes into the side of the cage. Talk about using your opponents energy against him.

WARNING SPOILER, but then again, you've probably seen the episode by now. Unless you're not in the U.S.

Conner knocked out Gunn. Faith came out of her coma and raced downstairs and fought with Conner then locked herself in the cage with Angel.

When did she lock herself in the cage with Angel? She just went down, started kicking Conner's whiny a** all over the place, eventually knocking him toward the cage's bars where Angel grabbed him and told him that he's back.

Maybe Faith's 'coma-jumping' is something that only the most recent Slayer can do... I know, nothing to back that up besides that one episode of Season 3, but... it's something.
Faith was also in Buffy's mind in the two parter during Season 4 of Buffy that she appeared in, shortly before she woke up.
