The Magic Bullet

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Angel: Season Four: The Magic Bullet

Fred appearing at the car in the opening was reminiscent of Invasion Of The Body Snatchers.

So why hasn't Jasmine taken advantage of the fact that LA is a broadcasting center to the country?

By Scott McClenny on Thursday, April 17, 2003 - 11:49 am:

Good question Kmorgan.Perhaps she isn't as powerful as she wants people to believe her to be.
From the episode it appears that she needed to use
other people in order to find where Fred was hiding.

The entire episode did remind me of one of the
Invasion Of The Bodysnatcher movies, especially the scene at the motel where everyone starts to chase Fred around.

So Jasmine's weakness is that once your blood touches hers the spell is lost.

I wonder how Angel figured out the link between Cordie's blood and Jasmine's.

Interesting that Connor was the only one that it didn't work on.

Great lines: Connor:Where are the people that went in there with you?
Jasmine:I ate them.
Connor: Cool!

Lorn:And the part of Judas Iscariot
tonight will be played by...

Lorn(shouts):I got x-rays!
(after he tells the woman his heart is in his butt, literally. If anything this will probably come down as the ep.where we learn that
Lorn's heart is kept in his butt!)

Demon(offers Fred a piece of hand to eat
before she kills him):Finger food?

Fred(after the kiss):Do you think they
bought it?
Angel:I bought it.

Am I the only one who was reminded of the Sound of Music that the last line, "there here, there here.":)
The reason I figure it didn't work on Conner because he has a blood connection to Jasmine the same as cordelia, so his blood cancelled out hers. Jasmine's blood should work though.

Or maybe it did work & Conner doesn't care?

Interesting comparison to the Sound Of Music.

By Kai on Friday, April 18, 2003 - 6:13 am:

I partly agree with karen, and say that Angel Investigations didn't think the whole thing through - sussing that Cordelia's blood might work since she's the mother, but not thinking that the Father's blood might be connected too. But I don't know if Jasmine's blood would work (I suspect it wouldn't).

Also, Fred, after running away from Angel Investigations' HQ, should have headed straight to Sunnydale.

But I don't know if Jasmine's blood would work (I suspect it wouldn't).

Um, Fred and Angel's experiences prove that it *does* work.

By Kai on Saturday, April 19, 2003 - 9:02 am:

Fred's experience doesn't count (she doesn't have a blood tie to Jasmine). Angel's may count since he is the grandfather of Jasmine.

The confusion may lie in the fact that I neglected to include with that statement the phrase "on Connor." This would make the complete sentence, "I don't know if Jasmine's blood would work on Connor (I suspect it wouldn't due to his direct blood connection)"

By Matthew Patterson (Mpatterson) on Saturday, April 19, 2003 - 1:28 pm:

That would make incredibly more sense.

My guess was either that it was the blood connection (and maybe it does work on Angel 'cos he's a generation too far out, or because he wasn't alive when he made his links, and still isn't), or maybe Connie's so fed up with people leaving and picking on him and things that he doesn't care if Jasmine's evil if he gets to bathe in the love.

If you'v seen the next ep,

I believe that's what they suggested in the following episode. I think they show Jasmine from Connor's point of view and she's the nasty, decaying version and he still tells them that he doesn't care.
