Just My Bill

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Knight Rider: Season 1: Just My Bill
Just My Bill

When Senator Maggie Flynn, an old friend of Devon's, is nearly killed by an "accident," Devon sends Michael to protect her. Maggie is beloved by the people and is currently fighting against a new bill that would set up a new power plant and stifle the taxpayers and workers in the community. Unfortunately, her opposition to the bill has caused Senator Dixon Forbes, one of the senators who supports the bill, to try and take her out of the picture. After her life is threatened again, Devon sends her to a Foundation retreat for an international summitt, but one of Forbes' men follows them and closes them off to outside contact. Michael works with Jane Adams (Flynn's secretary) and eventually breaks Maggie out, as the bill is about to be contested in hearing. Michael does get Maggie there in time to defeat the bill, and Senator Forbes is arrested for his involvement in the assassination attempts.

THOUGHTS:
-Nice episode. Carole Cook does a great job as the likable Senator Flynn.

-Fun moments: Devon informing Michael that his date has been cancelled, Jane's reaction to KITT's automatic driving, and of course KITT's self-parking job at the restaurant.

-New feature on KITT:
+Surveillance Mode is fully shown in this episode. The range is 200 yards.

FAVORITE QUOTE:
"Jane, I understand you went to Stanford University. Some of my circuitry was designed there. Excellent School. You wouldn't happend to know anyone in the engineering department, would you?"
(KITT, making small talk with Jane)

NITS:
-The Senator doesn't wear her seatbelt during the chase at the beginning. Jane also doesn't wear her seatbelt (I know with KITT you don't really have to wear seatbelts, but they don't know that yet).

-When chasing Owendorff, you can see swirlmarks on KITT's hood.
