Not A Drop To Drink

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Knight Rider: Season 1: Not A Drop To Drink
Not A Drop To Drink

Devon and one of the foundation's top lawyers celebrate with a group of small-town farmers. A Man named Herb Bremman has been trying to legally cheat the farmers out of their water supply, but has been unsuccessful due to Foundation support of the farmers. During the celebration, some of Bremman's men bomb a catchbasin, and Devon decides to enlist Michael's help until the Foundation can get a Peace Bond (which would hold Bremman personally responsible for any future attacks). Michael arrives to a cold reception by Francesca Morgan, the "leader" of the farmers. Also, Bremman's men know Michael is in town, so they try to capture him during one of his guard shifts, but are unsuccessful. They kidnap Francesca while she snoops around Bremman's ranch, and try to rupture the main water pipes, but Michael and KITT stop them. After rescuing Francesca, Michael heads to the main dam in the area, but it's already been blown. Michael takes KITT farther up the pass and uses KITT's rockets to create a natural dam to enclose the escaping water. As the episode ends, Francesca invites Michael and Devon to visit the town anytime they'd like.

THOUGHTS:
-Not a lot going on in this episode, but still a good one.

-Fun moments as KITT rounds the bull ("Toro, Toro, Toro!") and later acts like a UFO to get information from one of Bremman's goons.

-New features on KITT:
+Rear Grappling Hook
+Rear Rockets (2 shown in this episode)

FAVORITE QUOTE:
"Dog, what do you think you're doing? I'm not a fire hydrant!...Some days you just can't win."
(KITT to Harry the dog)

NITS:
-I mentioned in "Knight of the Phoenix" that throughout the first season, in practically every episode KITT's hood is open for a few shots. This episode contains some prime examples, including one shot of KITT where the hood pops open during the bull-rounding and is closed the rest of the time.

-Quite convenient that Bonnie just installed the grappling hook and Michael needed to use it at the end of the episode!

I really really like the part with KITT playing a UFO... That is just classic.
