No Big Thing

As Devon travels to the small town of Lyndhurt Flats, he is pulled over by the police, who promptly bring up a trumped-up charge of failing to stop (at a clearly blocked sign) and also break a light on Devon's car. Devon is unlawfully arrested, where he spends the night in jail with Frank Reston, a local whistleblower who has found out that Judge Paxton has been ruling the town with a near iron-fist. Reston is killed the next day by Paxton's goons, who now want to keep Devon out of the picture. Devon is taken to prison, but he and two inmates escape. In the meantime, Michael and Carol Reston (Frank's ex-wife) have run into some trouble while trying to find Devon, and Michael eventually goes to the prison to see if Devon is there. Hearing of Devon's escape, Michael and KITT come to his rescue. They get there right in time, and escape to the county line. Devon and Carol relay their entire story to the state police, who have already arrested Paxton's men. As the episode ends, Devon confronts Paxton himself and gets the upperhand. Paxton is now the one who is going to be put away.

THOUGHTS:
-Somewhat boring episode, though we do get to learn a bit about Devon. Interesting that he broke out of 2 German prison camps during WW2.

-Some fun moments as the gas station guy tries to sabotage KITT but can't, Devon escaping during the prison fight, and of course Devon punching Paxton at the end.

FAVORITE QUOTE:
"Uhh...it's on the house."
(The gas station guy after trying to sabotage KITT - while Michael fills KITT's gastank - and failing at the attempt)

NITS:
-KITT tells Michael to hit the brake and go into reverse, and RIGHT AFTER asks why Michael didn't just jump KITT over the pursuing truck instead of going in reverse. Well maybe he might have if you had let him!

-Several times in the episode, KITT's hood pops open.

-When Devon jumps the truck over the ditch, you can see that Mulhare's stunt double is wearing a white helmet.

-The seargeant is obviously replaced by a dummy when ejected from KITT.

-Speaking of the ejection, isn't Michael supposed to open the sunroof first?

-At the end of the episode, how did KITT jump through the truck on the bridge if Michael didn't engage the turbo boost?

-The end sequence is missing the "One man can make a difference, Michael..." quote.
