Forget Me Not

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Knight Rider: Season 1: Forget Me Not
Forget Me Not

Marialena, the daughter of the newly elected leader of San Miradador, has asked Michael for his help. Marialena suspects that a group led by the evil David Burns is trying to assassinate her father in order to win smuggling power back in San Miradador. Michael attends one of Burns' parties to try and find out what his plan is, and he bumps into a girl named Mickey. Mickey, weary from the champagne, falls asleep in a bed upstairs, and later overhears a conversation between Burns and Rudy Del Fuego, the man who wants power from Marialena's father. Mickey is taken by Delf Fuego's men and nearly killed, but Michael saves her. Unfortunately, she has amnesia due to her injuries, but she does remember something about a "Frenchman." Later on, Michael finds out that Burns is secretly paying off a french assassin to try and kill Marialena's father during an equestrian event. With Mickey's help, Michael and KITT save the day. As the episode ends, Mickey's memory has come back, and she and Marialena go out with Michael.

THOUGHTS:
-Good show, Judy Landers shines as Mickey!

-Fun moments:
-The angry valet and KITT at the beginning
-Michael eyeing Marialena while she walks out of the bathroom in her towel (I'm sure Hasselhoff liked doing this episode!)
-Michael hogtying the Frenchman at the end
-And, of couse, Mickey!

-New features on KITT:
+This is the first episode where we see that KITT has a rappelling cord

FAVORITE QUOTE:
(Devon shows Mickey pictures of 12 hitmen to try and see if Mickey can recognize any of them)
Mickey: "No, but this one looks a lot like Al Pacino, don't you think?"

NITS:
-As the woman at the party thinks she recognizes Michael from Rio at the beginning of the episode, you can see a boom mike (top of the screen) in all the shots of Michael.

-When Michael is in trouble at the bottom of the hill, he calls for KITT. The problem is the two goons should have known something was up, since the rope Michael used to climb down should have moved when KITT backed up.

-The shot of KITT jumping over the hill is actually the shot of KARR driving over the hill from "Trust Doesn't Rust." Not only that but it doesn't even look like a Trans-Am.

-KITT lands on the beach at a pretty good angle, given that KITT was at least a few hundred feet up.

-The shots in the equestrian center are stock footage.

-The shot of KITT spinning sharply to avoid a blue car comes from the chase at the end of "The Final Verdict."

Another nit for you: The bumper of each vehicle that KITT pushes forward has a thick piece of foam duct-taped to it - to prevent damage, of course, but it is rather obvious, nevertheless.
