Wilton Knight died with the wish that one man could carry on his legacy and make the world a safer place. That man was Michael Long, whose face was rebuilt and name rechristened to Michael Knight. The only problem was that Michael's face wasn't created by accident - it's modeled after Wilton's son, Garth, who was convicted to three life sentences in Africa and thought never to be seen again. Garth's mother (Wilton's ex-wife), Elizabeth, had different plans - she bribed a government official to set up Garth's release, and now mother and son plan on selling something very deadly to one of their African associates. Elizabeth manipulates Devon and some of Wilton's other past associates (and murders some as well) and uses a truth serum to get what she wants - the formula used to create KITT's molecular-bonded outer shell. Garth uses this formula to create a gigantic truck ("Goliath") capable of destroying both KITT and the man he hates most in this world - Michael Knight, the man who he believes epitomizes his father's foolish vision. When Michael and KITT try to stop the massive truck, they instead take the brunt of it's assault.
THOUGHTS: -Fun episode! not much going on in part 1, though.
-Rebecca Holden (as April Curtis) replaces Patricia McPherson this season as KITT's technician. I don't know about everyone else, but I missed Bonnie this season! Don't get me wrong, April was okay, but Bonnie seemed much classier.
-New opening credits visuals, including the purple haze we all know and love.
