Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Knight Rider: Season 2: Soul Survivor
Soul Survivor

Trying to help out a woman who has had car trouble, Michael is instead knocked out by low-frequency music played in the woman's house. A young computer geek named Randy Merritt gains access to KITT's systems and Randy and the woman (Adrian Margot) steal the car. When Michael returns to the house after reporting back to the Foundation, he finds KITT's CPU hidden in the garage. Michael eventually finds out that Adrian is just using Randy to control the KITT car for an art heist of one of the Foundation's old board members. When the time comes for Michael and KITT's CPU to confront the KITT car, KITT's CPU ejects the passenger out and Michael and Randy team up to stop Adrian for good. As the episode ends, KITT is back to normal and Randy decides to stop playing with computers as much.

THOUGHTS:
This might've been a good episode, but it had too many nagging faults that it turned out to be one of the worst:
-Randy controlling the KITT car using a joystick!
-KITT's CPU transferred into an old tv set!
-And I usually don't mention the acting on the show, but Ann Turkel (as Adrian Margot) really was bad.

FAVORITE QUOTE:
"Ohhhhhh...this does feel good!"
-KITT, as Michael engages pursuit mode at the end of the show.

NITS:
-Again, controlling KITT with a joystick?

-How does Michael "sense" KITT in the garage?

-When Michael picks up KITT's CPU, he tries to talk to it even though he's talking into a circuit panel rather than the voice modulator.

-Why did Randy get rid of KITT's CPU in the first place? If he's really interested in computers you would think he would keep it.

-The KITT car is flat on most of the turbo boosts in the episode.

-In most of the turbo boosts, the KITT car has smoke coming out of it's rear area for some reason.

-For some reason when KITT's CPU is seperated from the main car, the scanner operates differently (look at the red light, it moves from the center outwards into two directions rather than one stream moving left and right).

-The KITT car's laser pack is red in this episode but it was blue in "Goliath, part 2."

-After KITT's CPU engages the eject-right function on the KITT car, it looks like the guy who is ejected actually pushes off the seat himself.
