A Knight in Shining Armor

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Knight Rider: Season 2: A Knight in Shining Armor
A Knight in Shining Armor

A thief kills one of Devon's old friends, Charlie Granger. The thief steals a treasure map from Granger's guest house and finds a message to Granger's daughter, Katherine, that the "key" to finding the exact location of the treasure is hidden in Katherine's locket. Michael heads to a prep school for young ladies and finds Katherine reluctant to join him - she hasn't seen her father for 15 years and doesn't want anything to do with him. Still, Michael takes Katherine and together they visit Charlie's house, which is filled with photographs of Katherine. The reason he couldn't see her is that he was in a prison on trumped-up charges. Charlie was a great explorer and treasure hunter, and Michael tells Katherine that Charlie actually loved her very much. Devon meets with the man who has been Katherine's caretaker, Christopher Stone, and suspects him of the murder. Michael confirms this with a break-in to Stone's house, where he has KITT record a conversation in which Stone talks about the theft and trying to find Katherine's locket. Katherine suspects this information to be false, but when she meets up with Stone he pulls a gun on her. Luckily, Devon and April have the locket, and with KITT's help, they find the secret which pinpoints the location of the treasure via a military code. Michael heads there, where he stops Stone and helps Katherine find her treasure...not money or jewels, but a cave of beautiful crystals.

THOUGHTS:
-Very nice show, flows smoothly and has a nice ending (with the cave).

-Excellent shot with KITT turbo-boosting through a moving traincar!

-And of course the fun at the very end with KITT zooming away from the preppie kid in a "race."

-There's one spot I found funny even though it isn't, it's when Michael first meets Katherine. He's trying to be all serious but his shirt is open the whole time and it just looks goofy!

New feature on KITT:
+I'm probably wrong on this but I think this is the first time KITT has intercepted a phone call and recorded it.

FAVORITE QUOTE:
Michael: "You can't shut out everyone who tries to help you."
Katherine: "When you shut them out, they can't hurt you."
Michael: "They also...can't love you."

NITS:
-Lance LeGault (as Christopher Stone) was also in "Knight of the Phoenix" as one of the bad guys. He's most famous for playing Colonel Decker in "The A-Team."

-KITT somehow takes a picture of the train from the ground near the tracks even though KITT is speeding towards them from a different angle.

-The shirt and pants Michael gives Katherine happens to fit her.

-When Michael and Katherine get out of KITT to enter the guest cottage, Michael's "come on" line is dubbed twice.

-The ejection of Michael to the roof is from another episode, I think "Chariot of Gold."

-Somehow KITT gets a picture of the lock from INSIDE the building (I would say it's a camera in Michael's watch but Michael's arm is down the whole time).

-I'm pretty sure the first shot of the FLAG semi is from "Knightmares."

-When KITT drives over to Michael and Katherine, you can see the brown sheet covering the guy behind KITT's passenger seat.

-There's a black bar that appears on the top of the screen at the end of the episode when Michael drops Katheine off at the school. It reappears as the preppie challenges Michael to a race.

-I'm pretty sure the last shot of KITT is from "Just My Bill."
