Danny Duvall and Kelley Travis were best friends and fellow racers in a motocross event until a year ago, when an accident killed Danny and left Kelley near-crippled. The Foundation is co-sponsoring the event this year and has recieved a letter saying that Duvall's death was no accident. Upon arrival at the site of the race, Michael finds two racers who might be responsible for the murder - either Wade Fontaine (who is in love with Sabrina, Kelley's sister - who was Danny's future wife) or Lee Carstairs (race endorser extrordinaire). Sabrina was the one who actually wrote the letter to the Foundation - she was scared Kelley was going to suffer more injuries after last year's drama. Kelley says he wants to win the race for Danny, since he feels he caused Danny's death. After studying footage of the accident, Michael finds that Kelley's wheel locked up during the race, possibly because of an aluminum rod fired from a small gun. Michael and KITT find that Carstairs' endorsement deals will run out this year, but the race has already begun, so Michael tests out KITT's new tires and stops Carstairs during the race itself. Kelley wins but forfeits because of KITT's help and plans to have an operation and leave the racing world behind.
THOUGHTS: -Good episode.
-Fun stuff with the two reporters (Roger Floyd, Darlene Forrester) constantly bickering off-camera. Also with Devon at the end...the look on his face as KITT turbo boosts over him is great!

NITS: -KITT is flat on the turbo boost over the truck at the beginning and also flat on the turbo boost over Devon at the end.
-KITT is also flat on the bottom during the barrel roll down the sand dune.
-The shot of the turbo boost over the lake is actually from "Good Day At White Rock."
-Towards the end of the episode when KITT and Kelley are going down Widow's Mountain, you can see a big dent in KITT's left front fender.
