A Good Knight's Work

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Knight Rider: Season 2: A Good Knight's Work
A Good Knight's Work

Gina Adams, a toy maker who just invented an interactive teddy bear, comes to the Foundation to ask for help - someone has stolen the designs for her bear, and she wants them back. Michael takes her to MMM Toys (the rival) and plans to steal the bear back, but someone shoots at the duo (with tranquilizer bullets). The shooter is working for Cameron Zachary, the man behind the shooting of Michael Long (see "Knight of the Phoenix"). When Long's grave is robbed and no body is found, Zachary figures out that Michael Knight is actually Michael Long. Zachary actually wants Michael alive, since he blames Michael for Tanya Walker's death (see "Knight of the Phoenix, Part 2") and wants to see Michael suffer. Michael returns to MMM but some goons are waiting for him when he gets there. He escapes and decides to convince Gina she's doing the wrong thing by helping Zachary (which she did because she wanted a "big life"). Michael is taken to Zachary and with KITT's help, he takes Zachary out in his own apartment. Gina is granted immunity by the Foundation, and now she's the one who will have to start a new life.

THOUGHTS:
-Nice episode, great continuity!

-Fun stuff with KITT and "Mighty Mouth" throughout. I especially liked the eject at the end!

-Star Trek actor watch: John Vernon (as Cameron Zachary) played Commodore George Stocker in "The Deadly Years" (TOS).

-Star Trek actor watch: Robert O'Reilly (as Jake Simpson) played Gowron in TNG and DS9.

New feature on KITT:
+Michael wears a homing device on a necklace which, when activated, can call KITT automatically.

FAVORITE QUOTE:
"Babysitting a pincushion. How demeaning."
-KITT

NITS:
-In "Knight of the Phoenix," Wilton Knight and Devon talked about having to steal a body from a medical school to serve as Michael Long, but in this episode Long's coffin is empty.

-When KITT enters the semi at the beginning of the episode, the shots show his scanner on, then off, then on again as KITT goes up the ramp.

-Devon says Michael was shot 3 years ago but it was actually 2.

-When KITT has to drive into Zachary's semi, KITT shifts gears into D but then reverses.

-KITT is flat on the turbo boost into the apartment at the end.

-The apartment must be pretty strong to withstand KITT rurbo boosting into it!

-How DID KITT get down from the apartment?
