A seductive woman approaches a police impound with an access card from Captain Tom O'Malley. The woman distracts the guard and strikes him down, allowing her associates to steal a truckload of weapons, including some lasrer rifles. Since O'Malley is well known as a "survivalist," Michael goes to a local convention to try and find him. Strangely enough, one of the guns at the show is a stolen weapon, and one of the show models, Sheila, tells Michael she found the gun in a truck nearby. When Michael and Sheila approach it's location, they find no exit tracks, but that doesn't rule out the possibility it was helicopter-lifted out. After being shot at, Michael and Shelia return to the convention just in time for the shooting competition. Once there, Michael meets Lyle Jastro and his daughter Tyler, and realizes they are using some of the stolen weapons. The man who shot at Michael earlier recognizes him at the competition and alerts Tyler, who plans to meet with Michael later on. Michael realizes she just wants to meet him so she can distract him while Jastro and his goons test the lasers, so he has KITT microjam her inside an elevator and he heads to the mountains, where he finds Jastro test-firing the lasers. Michael is spotted and KITT is shot at, but Bonnie is able to repair him. While KITT is being repaired, Tyler approaches Sheila with a deal - if Sheila distracts Michael that morning, Sheila will get $10,000. Whe Michael returns to the hotel, Sheila takes him off-course for a while before finally telling him the truth. As Michael heads back to the hotel, the tunnel he is driving KITT in is caved in by Jastro's goons. With a turbo boost and some fancy driving, Michael and KITT are able to get out and plot where Jastro's hit will take place (Jastro has a plane set to leave in one hour, so KITT figures that he will hit the Anderson Precious Metals Depository within a half an hour). Jastro's goons nearly destroy KITT before KITT microjams their lasers. Michael and KITT find Jastro and his daughter attempting to break into the depository with a helpcopter, so he has KITT reel them in before they can do any damage. As the episode ends, Michael finally meets Tom O'Malley, who admits he got drunk at a paety and that's how his access card was stolen. At least he can live with the outcome - Michael caught Jastro, and O'Malley has now hooked up with Sheila.
THOUGHTS:
-Another laser episode, but still decent.
New feature on KITT:
+Not really a new feature but in this episode KITT actually has a button called "winch" which is used to reel in the helicopter.
Star Trek Actor Watch: Richard Herd (as Lyle Jastrow) played L'Kor in "Birthright" (TNG) and Admiral Owen Paris in "Pathfinder," "Inside Man," "Author, Author," and "Endgame, Part 2" (VOY).

NITS:
-Judy Landers (as Sheila) previously played Micki in "Forget Me Not" (season 1).
-Throughout the episode the film is reversed (you can tell because at least twice, Michael drives KITT from the right side).
-When KITT turbo boosts out of the tunnel, the first shot is a stock shot and has the blue sky behind KITT.
-The last shot of that turbo boost features KITT's landing from "Ten Wheel Trouble."
-The model of KITT used to bust through the depository gate is the same one which was used for "Knight of the Phoenix" (long hood, short nose, thin scanner).
-Why didn't Michael just have KITT microjam the helicopter? (I know, then there would be too many microjams in one episode!)
-So where was O'Malley the last three days?
By Mike Ram on Thursday, August 28, 2003 - 9:46 pm: NANJAO, when Michael is driving home at the beginning of the episode, KITT's little tv screen shows footage of a sand-covered road which comes from "Knight of the Phoenix."
I say it's not a nit since Michael was on his way back to the Foundation and was probably using the same road.
