During a party to celebrate the architectural designs of Matt Erickson, two women work together to steal Erickson's keys and wallet, and one of the women also heads to Erickson's office to photograph the plans of the Maximillion Hotel. The hotel is to host several NATO heads during a defense meeting, and Devon thinks whoever photographed the plans is planning an assassination. KITT analyzes the thief's shoes and traces them back to a local gym, whose owner tells Michael she sold the shoes to a prison official named Jason Nelson. In fact, Nelson has been working in the local women's prison with Christine Brooks, the local warden. Nelson and Brooks are planning to break into the hotel not to disturb the defense meeting but to steal a perfect crystal which could be usd to focus a laser beam. An inmate named Julie Rogers is being manipulated by Nelson (her former gymnastics instructor) into doing the job for Brooks even though he plans to get rid of Julie afterwards. Michael comes up with a plan - Bonnie will enter the prison as an inmate and cause a ruckus, distracting the guards so that Michael can get in. The plan works, but Michael and Julie are caught while attempting escape. Nelson and Julie head for the hotel while Brooks tells the guard to kill Michael and Bonnie, but Brooks is caught by RC3 and Michael and Bonnie escape. Julie has already stolen the crystal, but decides not to give it to Nelson. Luckily, Michael gets there just in time to stop him before he gets away. Julie will continue her training in hopes of sometime becoming a gymnist again.
THOUGHTS:
-Decent episode, but what happened to Samantha towards the end?
-Some EXCELLENT shots finally showing Super Pursuit Mode/Emergency Braking System at night.
-Those twin orange tubes which appeared in several episodes of Star Trek TNG also appear in this episode. And might I mention that this is like the 10th time that we've heard that background noise when Julie enters the crystal hold? I think the first time was in "Goliath Returns, Part 1."

-When KITT enters SPM at night, his wheels emit some kind of red light, but in all the driving shots the red lights disappear from the wheels.
By Scott McClenny on Saturday, May 03, 2003 - 1:23 pm: If I recall rightly I saw a show on the Travel Channel about Hollywood secrets and it highlighted the shop where they rent out special effects props like the orange glowy thing to shows and movies.Forget what it was called as it was a few weeks back,maybe a month ago.
It's never actually made clear in the episode wheter or not Julie was really guilty of drug smuggling or if her coach had framed her,though I lean toward the later idea as she doesn't seem to be the type who would knowingly smuggle drugs into the country.
