Voo Doo Knight

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Knight Rider: Season 4: Voo Doo Knight
Voo Doo Knight

Jeremy Towers (owner of a jewelry store) and two other men walk into the store and steal a key from inside a safe. Since the silent alarm is activated, Michael and KITT investigate. The two men easily toss Michael aside, and Towers jumps out of a nearby window, killing himself. Next, we see a party being thrown at the residence of Donald Crane, local archaeological expert. Claude Watkins enters the party, which features a "voodoo princess" named Harana. Harana greets Watkins and sets a date up with him, then meets the two men who roughed up Michael earlier. Harana takes the key and presses her necklace, which gives the men their control back. Michael soon joins the party, along with Elizabeth Westley (whose father was also killed under mysterious circumstances, just like Towers). Michael and Elizabeth are thrown out after a fight, but Michael finds an earring on the floor - Harana has been using these as transmitters to control people's minds and bodies. Soon, Harana tags Watkins with one of these transmitters and uses him to steal another key from Watkins' artifact collection. Michael and Elizabeth are on Watkins' tail, but he kills himself before they can stop him. The whole story goes back to an expedition which uncovered an ancient Mayan crown worth millions. The four men on the expedition also hold the four keys to unlock the safe the crown is hidden in - Westley, Towers, Watkins and Crane. Soon Harana takes control of Crane and gets the last key. Michael is tagged as well, but now KITT has a frequency which can block the transmission signal. Michael and RC3 save Crane before he is killed during a building demolition, and track down Harana (who is actually a con artist named Benita Vance) before she can escape with the crown.

THOUGHTS:
-Well, "Scent of Roses" will always be the last episode in my mind because as the final episode, "Voo Doo Knight" is weak. Don't get me wrong, as a regular episode it's not too bad but as the final episode it's unappealing - the plot is a bit farfetched and once again, there's not enough Bonnie! In fact, I cant remember her even being in this episode. What, RC3 is more important than Bonnie?!

FAVORITE QUOTE:
"Well, my favorite tage team! Hulk Hogan and Sgt. Slaughter..."
-Michael to the controlled duo (he has lots of crack like this in the episode). Every time he meets them, he's like, "Oh no, not again!"

NITS:
-John Vernon (as Claude Watkins) also played Cameron Zachary in "A Good Knight's Work" (S2).

-A few of the shots of KITT at night come from season 2.

-When KITT heads back to the party at night, one ofthe shots also comes from season 2 (and was also in the previous episode, "Knight of the Rising Sun").

-Why doesn't Bonnie work on the earrings rather than Devon?! And when did Devon suddenly become an electronic expert?
