great line Jill: Do you want to call somebody?
Chandler (in thought): Yup. About 300 guys I went to high school with.

My absolute favourite episode of all time. Chandlers reactions to being stuck with a supermodel are exactly the way I'd react.

I wonder if he ever got the tape?

If Jill has the cellphone, why doesn't she just call the bank? Surely they have some number like "In case of emergency, please ring...."

Great Line:
As the gang discusses the weirdest places they’ve had sex…
Joey: Okay, my weirdest place would have to be... the women's room on the second floor of the New York City public library.
Monica: Oh my God! What were you doing in a library?

The blackout affects all of Manhattan, as well as parts of Brooklyn and Queens, but Monica is able to use the phone in her apartment. It should be dead. Jill does use her cell, but the creators should’ve had Monica do the same. Even modern cordless phones have a base unit that plugs into an AC outlet. The handset doesn’t work when the base unit is turned off or unplugged.

Rodney, the bank was closed. Even banks that provide numbers for their customers to use if they have problems do not have operators standing by 24 hours a day. When I had a problem with my ATM card, it took them days to get back to me. What she should've done was call 911, but then again, emergency services were probably all tied up with other blackout-related emergencies, and probably would not have given immediate priority to two people in a non-life-threatening situation.

If I were Chandler or Jill, and was trapped in an ATM vestibule, and didn’t know when they’d get around to rescuing me, I’d simply break the glass door to get out.

Chandler seems to be very nervous about what to say to Jill. When he tells Joey that Jill Goodacre is in the vestibule with him, Joey tries to suggest things for him to say to her. All this suggested to me that he was trying to hit on her. He might’ve saved a lot of time and effort if he knew that Jill got married in April of that year to Harry Connick Jr, and was probably with him for some time before that.

---Nice Moment:
(After Jill kisses him on the cheek and then leaves the vestibule at the end of the episode…)
Chandler (looking into the ATM security camera): “Hi. Um, I'm account number 7143457. And, uh, I don't know if you got any of that, but I would really like a copy of the tape.”

The crossover involved the Mad About You episode Pandora's Box, the FRIENDS episode The One With the Blackout and the Madman of the People episode Birthday in the Big House.

I guess Jamie Buchman could, in theory, be blamed for Ross Gellar and Rachel Green not becoming romantically involved sooner.

I had heard that NBC also wanted Seinfeld to join in on the blackout stunt. Their producers said no.
