---Synopsis:
Ross finds a growth on his body but can't tell what it is. Phoebe is torn between two guys she is dating, one of whom is seemingly very sensitive and caring, and one of whom is seemingly manly and physically attractive. Pete’s informing Monica that they “need to talk” when he gets back from a trip causes the gang to jump to all sorts of conclusions about what he means.

This was really a funny episode, particularly the Phoebe storyline.

After the gang surmise that Pete is going to propose to Monica, Ross says that marriage is not something they should rush into. Rachel retorts, "What do you know, you married a lesbian." First of all, Ross' marrying a lesbian has nothing to do with rushing into things, since A. One episode established that they were together for several years before getting married (forgive me, I can't remember which), and B. She wasn't a lesbian at the outset, but realized she was a lesbian long after the fact. Second, Rachel almost married a guy she didn't even love (whereas Ross and Carol were in love), and ended up jumping out a bathroom window, leaving him at the altar. So what does she know?

---Great Line:
(As Phoebe tries to decide which guy to keep dating…)
Phoebe: “Well, Vince is great, ya know, 'cause he's like a Guy guy. Ya know? He's so burly, he’s so very burly.”
Joey: “Okay, good, so there you go. Go with Vince.”
Phoebe: “Yeah, but Jason's really sensitive.”
Chandler: “Well sensitive is important, pick him.”
Phoebe: “Yeah.”
Joey: “Oh sure, go with the sissy.”
Phoebe: “Jason is not a sissy.”
Joey: “Uh... no no no no, I meant Chandler.”

---Great Chandler Line:
Chandler: Yes, but this is Pete. Okay? He's not like other people. On your first date he took you to Rome. For most guys that's like a... third or fourth date kinda thing.

Rachel retorts, "What do you know, you married a lesbian."

Yea but her point was that his advice on marrage wasn't worth anything because he married one, not that his rushing into something caused it.

But his statement was about rushing into things, so that's the statement she was responding to. He didn't say anything about his overall advice on marriage, he just made one statement in particular which was either true/reasonable, or not true/reasonable. He never said he was an expert on marriage general. Rachel's comment was merely an ad hominmen one.

Moreover, I don't see why one's advice on marriage is invalidated simply because their wife realzied she was a lesbian several years after the relationship began.

Personally, I think Rachel's retort was simply a knee-jerk reaction to Ross's comment. I've certainly known many people who have made comments such as this to whom one could say, "Oh, you're really one to talk." I think the only thing out of character is that Ross didn't call her on it.

I think Rachel was taking a cheap shot at Ross because she's still upset over the breakup.

I'm surprised Ross wasn't more reluctant to see the mad herbal apothecary. Judging from episodes like "The One Where Heckles Dies" I thought he was one of those ultra-science types (like me :)) who won't have any truck with "complementary medicine".
