Great Exchange:
Chandler: Condoms?
Joey: You don't know how long we're gonna be in here! We may have to repopulate the Earth.
Chandler: And condoms are the way to do that?
Hilarious Exchange:
Rachel: “I’m Kip.”
All: “No, you’re not Kip.”
Joey: “You’re definitely not Kip.”
Rachel: “Do you even know who Kip is?”
Joey: “Who cares? You’re RA-CHEL.”
(Note: I don’t have a verbatim transcript of this line as of yet. It was one of the funniest lines ever on the show, and I’m shocked that friends-tv.org didn’t include it in its list of notworthy exchanges.)
In The One With All the Lasagnas(1.12), Joey became jealous of Chandler’s former roommate, Kip. Now in this episode, interestingly enough, he seems to have forgotten who he is.
In real life, would a hotel *actually* allow someone to change to a completely different room only because of a dirty glass? Is that actually done? I've never heard of such a thing myself. Of course, all the hotel rooms *I've* ever stayed in have been either really nice or at least adequate. None have ever had glasses with lipstick on them.
That's all I got for this one!
Off topic, but you did ask... In real life, would a hotel *actually* allow someone to change to a completely different room only because of a dirty glass?
quote:
No. Here's a more realistic scenario. IIRC, when me, my supervisor and another fellow were in Ithaca, New York on business in 1999, my supervisor changed his room at the local Holiday Inn, as we asked for non-smoking rooms, and someone had smoked in my supervisor's room regardless.
Thanks for that, Adam. That sounds to me like something that would have been more believeable and that would actually happen to people. And hotels have to deal with some pretty crazy people sometimes and they demand some really unrealistic things from them. I'm happy to say that I've never been that kind of guest. I'm just lucky in the way that whenever I stay somewhere, it's an enjoyable experience.
Another thing I wonder, now that I think about it, is what was up with Chandler's obsession with the high speed chase on TV? He and Monica went where they went to be together, as they were still hiding their relationship from the others and even had to lie to Joey about where they were going. Chan wanting to see some dude run from the cops on TV instead of being with his woman, that just seemed a little strange, that's all!
