When Ross tells the gang in Central Perk about the new apartment Emily has picked out for them, he says it has a view of Columbia. Joey says that’s three train rides away. Well, you could if you wanted to, I guess, but you don’t have to. The One Where Ross Hugs Rachel(6.2) establishes that the Angelika Theater is “up the block” from Central Perk. The Angelika is on the corner of Houston and Mercer, one block west of Broadway. Columbia University is in Morningside Heights, at 116th ST. & Broadway. If you’re at the Angelika, you can walk one block east to Broadway, and one block south, where there’s a subway station for the N&R line, take it to 42nd ST, and then transfer to the 1 & 9 train to 116th ST & Broadeway. That’s only two trains. Or, you could walk six blocks west (give or take a block, since the coffee house is a block away), and get on the 1 & 9 at the corner of 7th Avenue and Houston ST., take that directly to 116th & Broadway, and make it only one train.

OK. A few things about this one. I just have to ask: What was Danny doing in the basement in the first place? Why hadn't he already shaved off the beard and gotten a haircut? And why would he raise his ice axe up in the air in a threatening manner to two people he had never met before? And don't you think Rach and Mon overreacted to his being there just a *little* bit? Cuz I sure think that they did!

And then Rach is offended when Danny calls her out on her "daddy's little princess" style behavior, like commented on her clothes and shopping bags, for example. Why would she care so much about what he thinks of her, anyway? He had just come back to the States from a hiking/mountain climbing expedition and was not quite up to the standards of Queen Rachel, as he refused to play her games like everyone else she knew did. And he really wanted nothing to do with her and the others anyway, it seemed. And then they would bring him back later and show that he's really *close* with his sister, and that's when Rachel is really creeped out by him, and then we never see him again after that. OK, whatever. That's that, it seemed.

And this is also where we learn that Pheebs is always armed with a large knife that she keeps in a sheath strapped to her leg. That was nice to know about her, I guess!
