---Synopsis:
The gang all make New Year’s resolutions, most of which backfire on them: Ross’ resolution to try something new every day results in his picking an article of clothing that doesn’t agree with him, Joey’s resolution to learn the guitar causes conflict when Phoebe agrees to teach him, but with a unusual teaching method, Chandler’s resolution to abstain from sarcastic comments and jokes about his friends proves to be difficult for him, and Rachel’s resolution to stop gossiping is made problematic when she overhears a shocking phone conversation.

By LUGI NOVI on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 10:16 pm: Rachel overhears a phone conversation between Monica and Chandler in which, talking about their pet nicknames for each other, they expose their secret relationship. When Monica calls Chandler “Mr. Big,” Rachel freaks out, utters an exclamation, and hangs up the phone. How did Chandler and Monica not hear her?

Even if they didn't hear her yelp, from experience (being a third-party on a phone conversation), they should have at least heard the phone being turned off. Of course, then again, we didn't hear the conversation afterwards, so they may have heard Rachel. But then someone has to explain why the two of them did nothing about it.
