Great Exchange:
Joey: Hey Gunther! don't let that guy in here anymore! He just said Phoebe's a porn star!
Gunther: Well, I wouldn't call her a star, but she's really good. You should check out Inspect Her Gadget.
So Ursula is not only a porn actress, but is filming a movie in her apartment? I don’t think so.
The line from "the fan" about "the guys at the comic store" not believeing that he got a porn star's autograph is, I have to say, a bit unneccesary. We're not all like that. The owner of my local store is married and has a daughter, and his niece works with him there. It's a place that the whole family can go to, not all comicfans are creepy weirdo losers like we are regularly portrayed as being. You know, like on "Big Bang Theory" (and dont get me started on that...)
Remember, this episode aired before the emergence of Marvel Comic character-driven movies in Hollywood and how they ended up making a ton of money for the studios. That is their bottom line after all, so starting with the success of the X-Men and Spider-Man films, they kept crankin' 'em out! And now, comics and their fans are actually starting to be portrayed differently than they used to be. Positively for a change. Will wonders ever cease!
Anyway, I knew that Ursula wasn't a nice person, but using her sister's name in her new "career" was a new low even for her. At least Pheebs was getting a few checks out of it. And no, there would be professional studio space to film at, not one of the stars' apartments. That was shown just to get a few more funny lines of dialogue.
Larry Joe Campbell (the creepy fat porn fan) later starred on "According To Jim". I can't believe I know that. Maybe I just couldn't forget this rather large man's distinctive look. The hairs on his head are an inch apart, for cryin' out loud!
