Odd, one might think, given all the time in the earlier seasons Ross, Chandler and Joey spent watching and re-watching Die Hard, that Ross never thinks to comment on Paul's curious resemblance to the lead actor... :)

By the same token, you'd think Joey would've recognized Janine, who was his roommate from The One Where Phoebe Runs(6.7) to The One with the Apothecary Table(6.11), as Elle MacPherson, given that she was established to exist in the Friends universe in The One With The Princess Leia Fantasy(3.1), since Chandler mentioned her by name in that episode. :)

Another thing that didn't occur to me until this episode reran a couple of days ago: The idea that the Special F/X expert in charge of C.H.E.E.S.E. could get Joey fired all by himself isn't plausible. Only a writer, director or producer would have that kind of power on a TV series, and even then, would not resort to such a thing unless a star's behavior was truly egregious, as with Suzanne Sommer's dismissal from Three's Company, or Shannen Doherty's dismall from Beverly Hills 90210. For a robotics guy to be able to get him fired for a minor remark like the one Joey made is ridiculous.

TRIVIA: Bruce Willis appeared in the role of Paul for no fee, due to a bet he lost to Matthew Perry, with whom he costarred in The Whole Nine Yards.

Of course, you're absolutely right, Luigi. But let us consider Wayne for a minute, shall we?

He's clearly a brilliant engineer and can work wonders with robotics. (I thought CHEESE was a fairly lame robot compared to many others that have existed, but hey, it reflected the budget the show within the show had at the time) But of course, he is also socially awkward and cant talk to women. What a freaking stupid cliche!

I mean really now. The fact that the only reason Wayne doesnt get Joey fired is because he is a master in relations with the ladies, and can *somehow* teach him to charm the pants off a woman he likes in the span of only one episode, as Wayne is seen making out with the object of his affection at the end of the episode!

I really do wonder, how realistic is that? Can Joey's lady-charming powers really work *that quickly* for a homely geek like Wayne who has skills that get him a job on a TV show but who also lacks charisma and clearly has no other recognizable attributes that would ever assure that any woman with ever give him the time of day?

I have to say, I just dont buy it. And it is too bad that we didnt see Wayne ever again after this. Of course, in the next season, "Mac & Cheese" would be cancelled. We *all* saw that coming, quite frankly!
