I remember how in Superman III, after Superman straightened out the Leaning Tower of Pisa, a Pisan street vendor yelled at him, calling him a “stronzo,” (which is the profane word for a piece of excrement), and how, when that movie came to network television, the word was replaced with “stupido,” which meant that the editors were being circumspect even with foreign words.
