LOTS of nits for this one! (And I don't think it's just because it was a 45-minute episode.)

If Ross and Chandler graduated in 1991, as the banner in the banquet hall indicates, why are they having a reunion in 2004? Are 13-year reunions common?

I know that to appear on game shows like Jeopardy!, you have to qualify first by passing a test, but does the same hold true on shows like Pyramid? I’d find it hard to believe that Joey would pass it.

Why do they have Phoebe’s bachelorette party at Chandler and Monica’s, rather than at Phoebe’s place?

Also, I admit I’m not an expert on bachelorette parties, but does it seem odd that in having it at someone’s apartment, they have individual banquet tables? This makes sense when having it at banquet hall, but when having get-togethers at one’s apartment, don’t they usually have large tables with self-service buffets? At the first bachelor party I went to, we had it at the local fitness gym (since it was owned by the high school gym teacher and football coach, who knew some of the guys), and at the second, there were tables, but that was at a rented dance club.

Monica states at least twice during the 1987 flashbacks that she lost four pounds, but she actually looks like she lost more than that compared to her previous four appearances in a fat suit.

When Joey paired up with Henrietta in the second half of the episode of Pyramid he was on, the topic he was to describe was Things You Associate with the United States Congress, and the words he got were “Legislature,” “Rotunda,” “Filibuster” “Addendum,” and “Joint Session.” I’ve seen Pyramid many times. Is it my imagination, or were these words just a tad more technical than the words you’d typically find on a given episode?

Also, once Henrietta and Joey’s session was over, Gene was awarded the chance to go to the winner’s circle, but with Joey. Now I’m not positive about this, but doesn’t the contestant that goes to the winner’s circle go with the partner he or she had during the last regular round? Shouldn’t Gene go with Leslie?

The One With the Flashback(3.6) depicted Chandler and Rachel apparently meeting each other for the first time in the bar that eventually became Central Perk, which The One With All The Thanksgivings(5.8) later contradicted, because it depicted them meeting when Ross and Chandler were roommates in college having Thanksgiving with the Gellers. In this episode, they contradict it even further, by establishing that Chandler and Rachel made out not more than a few months later. So why did Rachel not recognize Chandler?

When Gene was trying to get Joey to say “Supermodels” during their winner’s circle round, I was thinking that he should’ve said, “That chick you had for a roommate for 5 episodes back in season 6!”

By Lee Jamilkowski (Ljamilkowski) on Friday, February 06, 2004 - 1:00 pm:

So, Chandler met Rachel originally when he and Ross came home for Thanksgiving during their freshman year of college. Then later, the party in the common room was thrown. Then Ross and Chandler come home the next year (the toe incident). A couple of years later is when Chandler and Rachel (re)met at the bar, and a year after that is when they met again when Rachel moved in with Monica.

Ok...

Disturbing. The last couple of minuted of this episode were quite disturbing.

By LUIGI NOVI on Thursday, May 20, 2004 - 7:07 pm:

And funny:

Ross: “Because the night you kissed Rachel was the night I kissed Rachel for the very first time!”
Chandler: "You kissed her that night, too?”
Monica: “Two guys in one night? Wow, I thought she became a slut after she got her nose fixed.”
Chandler: “Seriously, where did this happen?”
Ross: “Okay, after you told me she was passed out in our room, I went in there to make sure she was all right. She was lying on my bed, all buried in people's coats. Well, I went to kiss her on the forehead, but it was so dark I accidentally got her lips. I started to pull away, but then I felt her start to kiss me back. It was only for a second, but it was amazing. And now... now I find out that you kissed her first!”
Chandler: “Uh, wait, what bed did you say she was on?”
Ross: “Mine.”
Chandler: “I'm pretty sure I put her on my bed.”
Ross: “No, she was definitely on my bed.”
Chandler: “Why would I kiss a girl and then put her on your bed?”
Ross: “Well, then who was on my bed?”
Monica (horrified): “Oh! Oh! Oh!”
Ross (realizing): “No! No! No!”
Monica: “Yes!”
Ross: “You were under the pile of coats?”
Monica: “I was the pile of coats! You were my midnight mystery kisser?”
Ross: “You were my first kiss with Rachel?”
Monica: “You were my first kiss ever?!”
Chandler: “What did I marry into?!!!”

---Great Phoebe Comeback
(After the stripper turns out to be a 50-year old who barely clears five feet, Phoebe confronts Monica, who hired him...)
Monica: “I found him in the phone book.”
Phoebe: (incredulous) “How old is your phonebook?”

So why didn't Chandler or Rachel seem to recognize one another in the bar that would a year later be Central Perk?

By Lee Jamilkowski (Ljamilkowski) on Sunday, January 02, 2005 - 6:52 pm:

Well, Rachel was really, really drunk during most of the flashback scenes in this episode. So she may not have remembered Chandler at all due to the excessive consumption of alcohol on her part.

"So why didn't Chandler or Rachel seem to recognize one another in the bar that would a year later be Central Perk?"

I do not think that is really a mistake. I mean, come on, Rachel was in her snobish phase, and Chandler did not get a good look at her.

If anything, the first two seasons make it clear that Ross and Chandler did not know each other. Chandler makes fun of Ross' band at one point.

I believe Joey was on as an invited celebrity contestant.

I will use this ep as an opportunity to once again use the same chant that I used on the old Decipher.com board regarding Enterprise. Here goes:

CONTINUITY ERRORS AND INCONSISTENCIES!
CONTINUITY ERRORS AND INCONSISTENCIES!
CONTINUITY ERRORS AND INCONSISTENCIES!
CONTINUITY ERRORS AND INCONSISTENCIES!

That is what this ep is chock full of. Almost everything in the original flashback scenes directly contradicting almost everything established in earlier eps. That's pretty much it!

But to be fair, if I'm wrong about this, please let me know. I never got a chance to fully explain my reasoning when I complained about Enterprise's substandard quality years ago, as everyone there was totally "into it" while I most certainly was not!

Thank you for your time!
