Rep. Vito Fossella (R-S.I.) has not been having a good week. First, he's arrested for drunk driving, and now, he's revealed that he fathered a love child with the woman who bailed him out after his arrest. (Fosella married his wife Mary Pat in 1990; they have three children.) More on his mess here.
Fosella has been said to be a "family values" advocate. Of course he is. He has two families.
He's still in the running for conservative family values advocate of the year; his sex scandal doesn't involve homosexuality or illegal drugs.
Fossella has decided he won't run for re-election. More on that here.
Fosella was just found guilty of drunk driving. He faces jail time, but I'll bet he won't do one minute behind bars. More here.
I was wrong. Fosella quit fighting the charges, and will spend five days in a Virginia jail. Which he'll do on weekends; he started yesterday.
He allegedly quit fighting the charges due to the Adenhart tragedty.
Fosella may be mounting a political comeback. The Staten Island Republican Party nominated him to run for his old Congressional seat, blowing off two other contenders. More here.
And, Fosella is mounting yet another comeback, after a decade in exile. He is seeking the Republican nomination for Staten Island Borough President. I have no clue how this will turn out. But, as I will never vote for any Republican as long as I live, his comeback is a moot issue for me. More here, including a photo of Fosella posing with Ghoul-i-ani.
