By Brian FitzGerald (Brifitz1980) on Saturday, April 04, 2009 - 9:54 am:

Sarah Palin has hit out at her daughter's baby's daddy for appearing on "Tyra" and claiming that the governor must have known he was having sex with her daughter because they used to sleep in the same room on occasion.

"Bristol did not even know Levi was going on the show. We're disappointed that Levi and his family, in a quest for fame, attention, and fortune, are engaging in flat-out lies, gross exaggeration, and even distortion of their relationship,"

Getting blasted by Sarah Palin for being a media whore is sort of like getting blasted by Bill Clinton for cheating on your wife.

By Luigi_novi (Luigi_novi) on Saturday, April 04, 2009 - 11:17 am:

LOL.

By Brian FitzGerald (Brifitz1980) on Saturday, July 04, 2009 - 8:38 am:

Palin is resigning as Alaska's Governor. She's been kind of wishy-washy on the reasons, but I'm sure that we haven't heard the last of her. I can't think of a time when a major political figure like her resigned without there being a scandal involved so I'm wondering if something will come out in a few weeks. Perhaps she or Todd was unfaithful and she doesn't want to go down like Mark Sanford. Or perhaps her other daughter is pregnant. Or perhaps she's got a hosting gig lined up on Fox News.

As a liberal who does support the President when I hear talk about Palin running for president I say "pretty please, Palin in 2012." She would scare every moderate right back into Obama's camp. Plus her weird Jerry Springer family would make for interesting TV.

By Brian FitzGerald (Brifitz1980) on Monday, July 06, 2009 - 9:23 am:

Oh BTW I have heard that one speculation on why she's resigning is some corruption investigation underway. When she was mayor of Wasilla she authorized the building of a $12.5 million sports complex. Several of the contractors on that job were people with Palin family connections. At the same time the Palins built a half a million dollar home down the street from the complex. Her husband claims that he built the home with help from some "contractor buddies." The speculation is that the contractor buddies were payback for the sports complex contract, possibly even materials and labor cost billed to the public project.
What an unusual situation. Giant construction contracts are being awarded to campaign contributors at the same time that "buddies" who just happen to be contractors are "helping" Todd build their two-story house. At the same time Sarah ensures there will be no public record of building permits. WTF? How is this different from the Stevens situation?

So much for Palin's anti-socialist views and criticisms about Obama spreading the wealth around. Apparently it's OK to spread the wealth from the public treasury to her and her family. Also wasn't it the Republicans who were trying to turn some non-issue into a scandal involving Obama's house during the election; project much?

Really good article. Some other BBs that I post on are filled with people still trying to cling to the notion that Palin was a smart woman, with common sense approaches that American needs and that she only looked bad because the "liberal media (TM)" attacked her unmercifully when if anything the media was pretty easy on her.

By Brian FitzGerald (Brifitz1980) on Sunday, September 06, 2009 - 9:16 pm:

For the first time in my life I feel sympathy for Sarah Palin

Levi Johnston — you will remember him from his featured role as the father of Bristol’s baby at the Republican convention — has written an article for the new issue of Vanity Fair. It’s his take on thePalin home life, which Johnston says was “much different from what many people expect of a normal family.”

Given the fact that Johnston is a 19-year-old high school dropout whose mother was arrested last year on six felony drug counts, it is conceivable that he is not the perfect arbiter of normal families. But even if he were an Eagle Scout with a scholarship to Harvard, can you imagine anything worse than discovering your daughter’s teenage ex-boyfriend has been given a national platform to discuss his impressions of her mom’s parenting skills?

Saturday Night Live did a funny little movie clip parody this week. They showed clips of the movie, 2012, of the world being destroyed and cut in some phony Breaking News about Sarah Palin being elected President in 2012. The tag line was "Palin 2012: The world is going rogue!"

Pretty funny :-)

Glenn Beck is insane.
He had an interview recently with Palin and said something along the line sof, "You're one of the few people that can fix this country..."
Uhhh, I think the country and the Republican Party will refute that, Beck-head, as well as any sane individual! The Republicans don't want her to run, otherwise they would have made sure she didn't run away from Alaska like a rat jumping a sinking ship.
A governor that used to be a tv sports reporter, that had a daughter who ignored safe sex practices which led to her being a single Mom while in her teens, that quit while she was in office to host a tv segment on a biased, right-wing tv show, that she'll use to comment on political issues, even though her political career is dead and was short to begin with???
Yea.
Right.
He's taking harder drugs these days.
Gotta explain the wimpy crying somehow.

By Luigi Novi (Luigi_novi) on Sunday, January 31, 2010 - 12:02 am:

Do we know that Bristol and Levi didn't practice safe sex? Did they ever go on record as not using protection? (They sometimes fail, after all.)

By steve McKinnon (Steve) on Monday, February 01, 2010 - 10:10 am:

As I recall there was never any mention of failed safe sex between them. They were dumb enough to not use anything

By Luigi Novi (Luigi_novi) on Monday, February 01, 2010 - 6:29 pm:

Where was that mentioned?

By steve McKinnon (Steve) on Thursday, February 04, 2010 - 7:42 am:

I'm thinking either the news in general, Inside Edition, or Oprah. I'm sure if I'd heard it was a fluke with a faulty condom I would have remembered it and not have it stick out as a poor choice on the part of the kids. But the kids were universally criticed (in the coverage I saw) for not practicing safe sex. I saw Palin and her daughter on Oprah (not a fan, but I wanted to see if she'd play hard-ball with Palin), and I never heard either claim safe sex was employed.

By Tim McCree (Tim_m) on Friday, February 05, 2010 - 7:43 pm:

In the last days of the campaign, Sarah Palin was pranked into believing she was getting a call from the President Of France. You have to hear it to believe it. How could she have been so gullable!?

By Luigi Novi (Luigi_novi) on Saturday, February 06, 2010 - 3:11 pm:

Yeah, I remember hearing that months ago.

How could she have been so gullible? Simple. She has the IQ of a bag of hammers.

By steve McKinnon (Steve) on Sunday, February 07, 2010 - 12:14 pm:

Okay,. I hate her even more now.
I saw a clip of her at the Nutjob Convention, I mean, Teabaggers Convention, as the keynote speaker and she actually said in reference to Obama,
"How's that Hopey / Changey thing going for you?"
Firstly, she darn well knows that the 'Change' in Healthcare could have taken place (as well as other things) if the Republics hadn't blocked and kicked up such a fuss about every single thing.
And secondly, she's mocking anybody for wanting 'Hope'???? Are you f-ing kidding me? Would she rather people have NO HOPE?????????
God, she makes me SICK!!!

By Tim McCree (Tim_m) on Sunday, February 07, 2010 - 10:21 pm:

Well, this is a woman who:

1. Could not identify the three countries that make up NAFTA (despite the fact that she is living in one of them).

2. Who thought Africa was a country.

3. Thought the city of Montreal was in France.

4. Had no idea who the Prime Minister of Canada was.

Duhhhhhhhhhhhh.....

One has to wonder what John McCain was thinking when he picked her to be his running mate. The woman has no clue of anything outside of Alaska.

This is probably why McCain lost the election. The guy is in his early 70's, and has already had a bout with cancer. If had had won and then had a heart attack... Doesn't the thought of Sarah Palin being President send a chill down your spine? The U.S. really should get down on its knees and thank God that didn't happen.

By Benn (Benn) on Sunday, February 07, 2010 - 10:55 pm:

I know from Facebook that many Republicans (who are friends of mine) are Sarah Palin apologists. They honestly think she's smarter than how the public perceives her and that she was much maligned during and after the campaign. Of course, I suspect that had she been a Democrat, they'd've painted her as being even dumber than she is. I suspect that in reality, Palin is actually of average intelligence. Which given this country, that's nothing to brag about. (In other words, I don't think she's a complete idiot, but she not as intelligent as Conservatives are trying to paint her to be.)

By Brian FitzGerald (Brifitz1980) on Monday, February 08, 2010 - 5:35 am:

I remember reading that McCain wasn't thinking when he gave her the VP slot. He wanted Joe Libberman to be his running mate, which would have given his claims of being a maverick who was above party politics some credibility. It was basically on the eve of the Republican convention that she more or less got foisted upon him by a Republican party leadership that can only understand things in terms of tokenism. "Hillery has lots of supporters who aren't happy Obama got the nomination, lets put a woman on our ticket. Forget the fact that her politics are 180 degrees from Hillery's; one woman's just as good as another, right?"

Benn, you are right about Palin apologists. They are convinced that she's a real smart down to Earth woman "with common sense solutions that could fix this country, you betcha" and the only reason she seems so dumb is because the "liberal media" is in a conspiracy to make her look dumb.

I'd say the media was too easy on her. Not that it stopped any sycophantic Republicans from crying "SEXISM!!!!!!!" any time hard questions or criticisms came her way despite the fact those same people had spent the previous year running an anti-Hillery campaign based on sexism.

By steve McKinnon (Steve) on Monday, February 08, 2010 - 8:41 am:

She had plenty of chances during the campaign to look intelligent and blew them. Nothing the liberal or conservative media could have 'twisted or manipulated' could alter live speeches or national debate appearances where she spoke and gave the impression of average or below average intelligence. She had her chance to talk like she was smarter and better than everyone else, but failed miserably.
And yes, Brian, I noted the clear hypocrisy of the Republics protecting Palin, when they took such joy in insulting Hillary. One even said something along the lines of 'Do you think you could stand listening to that voice (Hillary's) for 4 years?" when Palin's is painful to me, personally.

She wanted to paint herself as one of the regular people, just like the Teabaggers, but it's utterly ridiculous to state such a thing when you're being paid $100,000 (as Palin just was) for a couple hours talking.
She's laughing all the way to the bank, and she's not spending it on tea!

By Brian FitzGerald (Brifitz1980) on Monday, February 08, 2010 - 10:22 am:

One even said something along the lines of 'Do you think you could stand listening to that voice (Hillary's) for 4 years?"

That was Fox News' Dick Morris who said that men won't vote for Hillary because when men hear Hillary talk they hear their wives nagging them to take out the garbage. This is also the same Dick Morris who said that any attack on Palin was sexist.

Here's Jon Stewart pointing it out The part about sexism starts at 3:00 minutes in.

By Tim McCree (Tim_m) on Monday, February 08, 2010 - 2:21 pm:

With all the money she's making with her book and speaking engagements, Palin need not even bother running for any office. Besides, the more she talks, the more Americans can see how dumb she is. Surely no one would be stupid enough to put her in the White House.

Good old Fox News. They ought to be given the Joseph Goebbels Award For Most Outstanding Propaganda. Clearly they are in the GOP's pocket.

By Luigi Novi (Luigi_novi) on Monday, February 08, 2010 - 4:46 pm:

Brian: "Hillery has lots of supporters who aren't happy Obama got the nomination, lets put a woman on our ticket."
Luigi Novi: That's pretty much what it seemed like to me. They chose for her gender and for her right-wing extremism, as well as for the fact that she's pretty. If they really wanted an Republican female with some tenure, they could've chosen Christie Todd Whitman or Elizabeth Dole. But they went for the pretty pageant winner and former sportscaster.

To me, Palin, in addition to all the obvious examples of her ignorance, her cynical, anti-intellectual insistence that folksy appeal trumps being educated and informed, and that those who disagree are "self-proclaimed intellectuals", really descended beyond the pale when she quit the governorship before her tenure was up, just to acquire a media deal. To me, this brazen abdication of responsibility and principle for the sake of a quick buck was so disgusting, that it amazes me that there are even Republicans who give her credence.

By Luigi Novi (Luigi_novi) on Monday, February 08, 2010 - 5:55 pm:

By Luigi Novi (Luigi_novi) on Monday, February 08, 2010 - 6:07 pm:

And get this--she accuses Obama of being a "teleprompter reader". So.........the woman who has to write down four or five notes in her palm to remember prepared questions is leveling this accusation toward a guy who has written two books???

Amazing.

Seriously, where does one buy hypocrisy like that? Does it come in a jar, or do GOP hypocrites like her get daily injections of it, or what?

By Tim McCree (Tim_m) on Monday, February 08, 2010 - 10:25 pm:

She does look like a high school kid cheating on an exam. This was a woman who would have been ONE STEP AWAY FROM THE PRESIDENCY!!

Well, if she does run in 2012, Obama will surely get back in. If the Republicans want a hope in hell of getting the White House back, then running Sarah "Duh, what did I write on my hand?" Palin is NOT the right choice.

By Luigi Novi (Luigi_novi) on Tuesday, February 09, 2010 - 1:30 am:

Y'know, after the ascensions of Dan Quayle and George W. Bush, and seeing how she still has apologists and supporters, it really wouldn't surprise me if the GOP did try to support her, or if she got a sizable chunk of the electorate. I just hope that doesn't happen.

By steve McKinnon (Steve) on Tuesday, February 09, 2010 - 8:25 am:

Oh, man oh man oh man! The hypocrisy of this person is enough to make me explode!!!!! I saw the notes on her hand (c'mon!! A couple topics and not facts????? She really couldn't remember TOPICS?????), but I forgot about her teleprompter crack! And if I recall, the teleprompter would have been Obama's SPEECH! Quite a different thing than 4, count'em, FOUR TOPICS!!!
I wish we could blame her inexplicable popularity on people with I.Q.'s comparable to the citizens of Green Acres' Hooterville, but lots of dopes from all walks of life like or love this crazy person.

By steve McKinnon (Steve) on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 - 8:13 am:

Criticizing Obama for using a teleprompter, as Palin did, is such an annoying case of hypocrisy. Is she really that thick in the head that she thinks Obama invented the teleprompter? Surely, Bush, and Clinton and every American president, ass well as every WORLD LEADER, that has or had the opportunity to use one, DID! I wouldn't even criticize THE DECIDER for using one, because it helps to keep your message in line, without veering off into different tangents that oh look a doggie! would distract you from gonna get me some bread and milk tonight the message you're trying to impart I miss watching 7 of 9.

Everybody is making fun of Palin's hand notes (especially the part that she crossed out-- what? No white-out in your office drwer?), like Stephen Colbert (who wrote 'thumb' on his hand and an arrow pointing at it so he'd know how to use it to help himself pick up things), and the Daily Show (Wyatt Cynak had written notes on his abs and his back), so if anything, this dope has given us alot of funny stuff to mock.

I can't wait for SNL's take on it! Too bad Madtv isn't on air any longer, so we won't see their version of this goof.

She defended Limbaugh's use of 'retards' because it was satire. No way, lady. Limbaugh used it in the form of a commentary. The Daily Show and Colbert Report are satire and humerous. Limbaugh is nowhere near the same category.

I'm not a Palin fan, but I think a lot of you guys are severely underestimating her appeal among the American public. The left can write Palin off as a fool and a moron all it wants, but it did the same thing to Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush. The Democrats must take Palin seriously if they wish to stay in control.

By Benn (Benn) on Thursday, February 11, 2010 - 12:27 pm:

The fact that she's on Fox News means the Republicans either do take her seriously, or want to rehabilitate her image so the American public takes her seriously or both. I suspect the latter is most likely.

By Luigi Novi (Luigi_novi) on Thursday, February 11, 2010 - 3:22 pm:

I agree, Mike. That's why I said what I did in my Feb. 9 post. The initial reaction may be to think that she'd never get near the oval office. But then the secondary thought is to remember that people like Quayle and W. Bush did.

By Tim McCree (Tim_m) on Thursday, February 11, 2010 - 10:33 pm:

Yeah, and George W. Bush should be held up as an example of the wrong people getting into the Oval Office. The sands of Iraq are covered with the blood of over four thousand U.S. Military personel that have lost their lives in Bush's illegal and unnecessary war. Do any of you think Iraq would have happened if Al Gore had been President? In the summer of 2008, when things between Russia and Georgia were heating up, John McCain said something like: "In the 21st Century, nations are not supposed to invade other nations." Uh, hello John. Iraq? An invasion that you endorsed? I guess it's only evil if Russia is the one doing the invading. Dubya was an America hater's wet dream. I just feel bad for Obama, who has inherited the mess that Dubya left behind and has to clean it up.

Anyway, back to Palin.

but I think a lot of you guys are severely underestimating her appeal among the American public

That's the scary part. Look at Adolf Hitler, a failed artist, average IQ, yet he had a way with the people, he had good oratation skills. And we all know what that led to.

Sarah Palin also has these skills, despite her lack of intelligence in matters such as international relations and such. Being President is very different than being a State Governor (for one thing, State Governors can't go around starting wars for no good reason). Sarah Palin may have been suited to be Governor of Alaska, and, before that, Mayor of Wasilla. However, there is NO WAY this woman has any business of being President Of the United States, she just doesn't have the know how. Surely, after the disaster of George W. Bush, Americans would think twice about putting her into office. If, somehow, the GOP picks her to be the Presidential Candidate in 2012 (and I'm hoping to God that doesn't happen), then the people of America will have more sense than the people of Germany in 1933 did.

By steve McKinnon (Steve) on Friday, February 12, 2010 - 7:58 am:

And look at the big picture, with someone like Palin interacting with world leaders. Can you imagine the sight of Palin acting all folksy with Queen Elizabeth or Putin or the Emperor of Japan on in the UN? She'd look like a complete fool.
To be respected, you need to earn it, and being a gosh-darn-good-ol-American-apple-pie-truck-driving politician just doesn't cut it with the rest of the world. The whole Bush term proves that.

The old saying 'Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me' can be turned around for Palin as, 'I'm a fool once and you like me, shame on me, I'm a fool twice, three times, ten times, shame on you for still liking me.'
A couple gaffes can be accepted, but it looks to me that 50% or more of the time this lady says or does anything, it's really dumb, so I really can't understand the appeal of her.

Tim -"Look at Adolf Hitler, a failed artist, average IQ, yet he had a way with the people, he had good oratation skills. And we all know what that led to."

I wonder how he would have fared under the criticism and mocking from Leno, Letterman, CNN, Fox News, 60 Minutes, etc. of today?

Benn - "The fact that she's on Fox News means the Republicans either do take her seriously, or want to rehabilitate her image so the American public takes her seriously or both. I suspect the latter is most likely."

I'm hoping most Republicans don't take her seriously. Certainly Fox does and the Teabagger nuts, but for now I don't think the actual Party doesn't.

Maybe somebody can clear this up for me; she's no longer in politics, she's in a tv media job now. Could the GOP 'draft' her, or must they only select a presidential runner currently serving?
Because if the Republicans can't use her, then all this is for nothing, other than a stint as a third party choice.

Oh, I'm sure they can draft her. Regardless, earlier this week, David Letterman made a comment about how Palin was considering a run for the Presidency in 2012. (To which Dave said what every comedian is probably thinking, "Thank you. Thank you.")

Well at least 1.5 times. He won decisevly in 2004 but in 2000 his margin of victory in FL was less than 600 votes in an election that incorrectly disenfranchised thousands of minority people who had similar names to convicted felons, the police were setting road-blocks in inner city neighborhoods to keep "those people" off the street & a bunch of old geezers in Palm Beach County couldn't figure out how to punch a punch-card.

Simple, once he took power, he'd have them all killed.

David Letterman made a comment about how Palin was considering a run for the Presidency in 2012. (To which Dave said what every comedian is probably thinking, "Thank you. Thank you.")

I think it was Bill Mahr that said Sarah Palin was the gift that kept on giving to comedians everywhere. However, if she gets elected President, NO ONE will be laughing. In fact, folks would be very afraid.

Palin should stay right where she is. That way, she is free to shoot off her mouth and not be bound by ethics committees. Nor would she affect international politics. I know that Rush Limbaugh has been approached to run a few times, but always refused. On his radio show, he can say whatever he wants to say. In office he couldn't.

By Benn (Benn) on Sunday, February 14, 2010 - 1:22 pm:

Yes, he was elected twice, but Steve was referring to how he was viewed by the rest of the world. - Luigi Novi

I fell to notice that distinction. My bad. However, I should point out that while the rest of the world may have developed a negative view of the U.S. during Dubya's terms in office, many in this country, especially the Conservatives, had the attitude that what other nations thought of U.S. didn't matter. I'd imagine they'd have that same attitude if Sarah Palin was elected President and made the United States look like idiots. They'd find some way to rationalize it.

By Tim McCree (Tim_m) on Monday, February 15, 2010 - 12:05 am:

That is an attitude that just doesn't work anymore in our well connected world. It does matter what the rest of the world thinks of the U.S. If Palin wants to be President, she better well figure that out.

By Benn (Benn) on Monday, February 15, 2010 - 1:05 am:

I don't disagree with you, Tim, but I have heard and read where a lot of people, mostly Conservatives, do not feel that America should worry about what the rest of the world thinks about us.

That's the whole problem. These people seem to think it's 1956, or around that time. However, it isn't. People like Palin need to realize that it's the 21st Century. The world of their parents and grandparents is gone, and it won't be coming back.

"...a lot of people, mostly Conservatives, do not feel that America should worry about what the rest of the world thinks about us."

To me it sounds like a case of wanting one's cake and eating it to, when you take into consideration this example;
Conservative Americans might want to be respected for only the good things or their superiority or as a world power , while not caring what anyone thinks of the bad stuff (crime, pollution, etc.). You can't have both. You either care what the other 140 countries think of you or not.
It reminds me of a fan that asked Michael Dorn at a convention, "Why does Worf keep getting his a** kicked in fights?" This was sometime in the second season, and it was true-- Worf could be beaten in a fight. The producers, Michael Dorn explained, felt that if an alien could beat up a Klingon, then they must be pretty powerful. That would have made sense only if Worf had established that he was a brilliant fighter (which later seasons showed us)-- the early fights only proved that Worf was not a good fighter, and a viewer couldn't have developed a respect for him as a powerful force.
My muddled analogy is this; just being a Klingon (or an American) doesn't guarantee respect or fear from enemies, just because you are an American (or a Klingon), so you might want to know what others think of you, or else they might not want to ever visit your country again, might distrust your motives (honest or not), might get the incorrect impression that all Americans have the same conceited ego as you, or pick a fight, believing they could kick your a**.

That's the problem with Palin. She seems to go by this idea that "America is the best country in the world, and everyone else should try to be just like us." While this idea may have been popular fifty years ago, that's no longer the case. She has to realize that just because America is a powerful nation does not mean it's gonna be respected by all. Furthermore, she should know that the bloody nose the U.S. got form Iraq means that imposing your values and ideals on someone else just doesn't work.

By Benn (Benn) on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 - 12:33 am:

Palin outraged by last Sunday's Family Guy. I have a hard time imagining Palin and her family sitting in the living room on Sunday evening watching FOX's "Animation Domination". But it is a funny image if you think about it.

By steve McKinnon (Steve) on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 - 9:04 am:

I think they should do an ENTIRE EPISODE of the characters saying their lines as they look at their hands!
(Fox please contact me for my copyrighted idea! :-) )

By Luigi Novi (Luigi_novi) on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 - 10:55 pm:

Oh God, that would be so funny. Not an entire episode, mind you, but a cutaway gag or scene in which that starts off with someone mentioning her, and which then proceeds with everyone doing that.

By Mike Cheyne (Mikec) on Thursday, February 18, 2010 - 2:18 pm:

You guys just keep outlining the obvious problems with Sarah Palin. Nobody on this board (at least as far as I can tell) disagrees with these problems--the trick is that for many Americans, these do not seem like problems. The key factor for Democrats or moderate Republicans will be to convince/demonstrate to these Americans why voting for Sarah Palin is a problem to THEM.

By Tim McCree (Tim_m) on Thursday, February 18, 2010 - 2:27 pm:

Well, they better get started. She is seriously considering entering the 2012 race.

By steve McKinnon (Steve) on Saturday, February 20, 2010 - 7:21 am:

Saw Inside Edition last night and they revealed that the voice-over actress that did the downs syndrome character in Family Guy actually DOES have downs syndrome! They even showed her.
On top of that, the actress said Palin should get a sense of humor,, "...and when I was young I wasn't carried around like Trig (Palin's son) is, looking for sympathy and votes!"
Zing! Owch! Good one!

By Luigi Novi (Luigi_novi) on Saturday, February 20, 2010 - 8:50 pm:

I dunno, did she ever really make an issue out of Trig in the election? I certainly don't recall her doing so. And of course she's going to "carry" him. He was an infant, for cryin' out loud.

By Luigi Novi (Luigi_novi) on Saturday, February 20, 2010 - 9:23 pm:

Here's video of Andrea Fay Friedman, who played Ellen, speaking about Palin's criticism.

By steve McKinnon (Steve) on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 - 8:19 am:

I felt that anytime Palin was 'carrying' Trig about, she was trying to manipulate the masses-- "Oh, look at me! I'm a nurturing mother, and I'll nurture America with motherly love!" Yea, right, and shoot bears from a helicopter and spout lies about my opponents and their 'death panels' and being buddies with terrorists. It was sheer publicity, plain and simple.

I just think the little guy had no reason to be in multiple photo ops, essentially used as a marketing tool, and I guess the voice-over actress feels the same way. It reminded me of the 1988 campaign when Bush Sr. wrapped himself in an American flag at a photo-op-- I mean, how obvious can you get in trying to appeal to the masses? Poor Dukakis stuck himself in a tank with a helmet on, and just looked like a G.I.Joe action figure in a toy tank, by comparison.

Yeah, I felt that way too. He's a special needs child, Sarah, we get it. Now let the poor kid have some peace and stop hauling him all over creation.

Also, I hear that Bristol is going to guest star as herself on some TV show. She will be warning against teen pregnancy, of course.

I hear that Bristol is going to guest star as herself on some TV show. She will be warning against teen pregnancy, of course.
She's making her "acting" debut, playing herself (can it be called acting when you play yourself?) in an episode of ABC Family's The Secret Life Of An American Teenager. More here.

By Tim McCree (Tim_m) on Thursday, February 25, 2010 - 12:11 am:

I guess it's not really acting. After all, she's playing the same person she is every day.

By steve McKinnon (Steve) on Thursday, February 25, 2010 - 7:50 am:

But will some acting be involved? Will she say 'Don't have pre-marital sex', which means she's not playing herself because she did that and shouldn't preach, and would be the same as saying I wish I didn't have my kid, or will she say, 'Pre-marital sex and pregnancy is okay and keep your baby', which would mean she's not acting and she really is being herself?

Either way, she's hardly a roll model. She kept her baby, but her parents are well off enough to make sure the kid's okay, financially, unlike a lot of single moms.

By Tim McCree (Tim_m) on Thursday, February 25, 2010 - 10:22 pm:

Yeah, what's next. Karen Walker, from Will & Grace, going around telling kids how bad alcohol is!?

By steve McKinnon (Steve) on Thursday, March 04, 2010 - 7:55 am:

Saw clips of her on Jay Leno (whywhywhywhywhy is she even getting 2 more seconds of airtime?????), and if anyone thinks she didn't get Jay's writers or a professional to do her stand-up act then they're nuts.

Mitt Romney was on Letterman a couple of nights ago. And he had nothing but praise for Palin when Dave brought her up. I really think the Republicans are positioning her for a Presidential run.

By Josh M on Thursday, March 04, 2010 - 11:20 am:

Oh good, we can all start pasting these everywhere.

By Benn (Benn) on Friday, March 05, 2010 - 11:15 pm:

I disagree. For one thing, from what I can see, the public tends to feel President Obama has not done a great job as President. (While admittedly it's been awhile, the last I heard, his approval rating is down.) Couple that with the Republicans' masterful ability to manipulate information and promote their agendas and candidates, I don't see the Democrats winning the White House for a second term. Unless Barack Obama can turn things around. Which I don't see happening.

By Luigi Novi (Luigi_novi) on Friday, March 05, 2010 - 11:57 pm:

Yeah. I would like to believe it couldn't happen, but George W. Bush and Karl Rove proved that the right wingers can get their constituents to vote for anyone.

By LUIGI NOVI on Saturday, March 06, 2010 - 11:59 am:

Palin defended herself on The Tonight Show, saying that people should look at the things she wrote, like "energy" for example, saying that "there's a link between energy and prosperity." Ooh, there's a "link" between the two, huh Aristotle? That's the exact type of hollow, superficial non-statement, devoid of any insight, that George W. Bush was known for, and for which Palin spewed during the last campaign. The woman doesn't have an insightful, profound thought in her brain.

She also argued that people didn't argue the substance, but that they certainly argued the "format". Um, no, Sarah, number one there's no reason to "argue" a "link" between the two, because you're not really saying anything, and writing those notes on your hand is not a "format". What people critcized you for was not a "format", but the fact that you could not remember four simple things, even though they were answers to prepared questions, and in my case, the fact that did this while criticizing a Harvard graduate who's written two books, simply because he uses a teleprompter to read speeches, something every President does.

She also defends her palm notes because her dad did it. Yeah, and we can surmise where you inherited your total lack of intellectual vigor from, Sarah. Did your father ever do this while speaking in front of a crowd or on TV?

And don't even get me started on her attempt at comedy.

I just happen to listen to this song from the last Presidental election. It's a song by Robert Lund and Spaff.com called "Sarah Palin vs. the Flobots" and it's a parody of "Handlebars". Thought I'd post the lyrics for a laugh:

"I can lead the world with no résumé
No résumé
No résumé
I can be VP with no expertise
No specialties
No grad degrees

"Look at me! Look at me!
I'm Miss Congeniality
I finally got my first passport
And a cult of personality

"I can show you how to whack a puck
I can show you how to sack librarians
I can shoot guns from a pickup truck
At arctic wolves and vegetarians

"I can put lipstick on a pit bull
I can put lipstick on a hog
I can trot out my daughter Bristol
But don't mention her on your liberal blog

"Yay! Jews for Jesus and Pentecostals!
I can body-check a hockey ref
Remember, boys, when you're feeling hostile
I'm a total V.P.I.L.F.!

"I can take your mind off of Troopergate
Off of Troopergate
'Cause I'm super great
And you can build a bridge from Ketchikan
To Ketchikan
You betcha can!

"Lucky me! Lucky me!
I stole the buzz from HRC
I just got off my ATV
And now I rule the RNC

"I'm straight vanilla
Your flavor du jour
I'm Miss Wasilla
1984

"I machine-gun the myth of evolution
With Amendment Two of the Constitution
The Arctic Refuge requires pollution
No man is an island but I'm Aleutian

"I own the sea just like Poseidon
If you eat salmon my lead will widen
If anyone out there's still decidin'
Remember I'm hotter than Whatsisname Biden!

"I can skin a moose with a table knife
With a table knife
But I'm a stable wife
And I can make a world with no democrats
No whiny brats
No commie rats

"And I can Git-R-Done 'cause I'm anti-noise!
I'm anti-boys!
I'm anti-toys!
I'm anti-voice!
I'm anti-choice!
I'm anti-choice!

"I can lead a state with no residents
No residents
No residents
I can lead a state with no residents
When Johnny dies
I'm President."

Kinda scary, ain't it?

You can listen to it here.

Her 2012 campaign slogan could be:

"You can't spell PALIN without P-A-I-N in it!"

Luigi, you're my new best friend! Everything you said on Saturday the 6th is exactly how I feel, and I wish the people that like this goof would get it through their thick skulls that she's imcompetent and dangerous.

I know that one thing that bothers me so much about her, is that she comes across so black and white on issues. If you disagree with her (ie every single Democroat in existence), you're screwed and she will never help you. If you're a Republican, she kill a bear for you. In other words, if elected, I get the impression that there would be zero tolerance and bipartisianship with Democrats (who seem to be the devil-spawn to her) for the next 4 years. She's one of the most blatant disruptive forces around.
At least Geroge W. claimed to be a 'uniter, not a divider', even if he wasn't. Palin seems to take too much sadistic glee in beating down Democrats and spewing lies and exagerrations, in essence automtically alienating a significant portion of the population of a country she should care about 100 %.

As funny as this whole crib notes on her hand thing is I think it is a shame that it's getting so much media attention. All it's going to do is feed into her supporters delusions that she's being hounded by the LIBERAL MEDIA (TM) over trivial things. There are much bigger things to go after her on. Such as 'writing' a book riddled with provable falsehoods, calling herself a patriotic American while supporting the Alaskan Independence Party, accusing Zeke Emanuel of supporting "death panels" and being "Orwellian" & "downright evil."

By steve McKinnon (Steve) on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 - 7:51 am:

We're talking like she's a shoo-in, but she still has to go through the whole selection system, and up against a bunch of Republican senators and governors (that have served full terms and made politics their life) vying for the presidential nomination, they'll cut her to pieces on the issues, anyway.
God forbid I should stick up for guys like Romney and all, but any of them are preferable over her vacuous statements and working-mom comparisons.
Thrown in as a vice-presidential nomination is a slightly more likely chance, but again, many more better chances over her, in a campaign that she lost already.

By Luigi Novi (Luigi_novi) on Thursday, March 25, 2010 - 2:43 pm:

She's getting her own reality show.

According to the source, all the major networks passed on it, the Discovery Channel and A&E put offers on the table, at least until A&E pulled out yesterday. I guess they felt she wasn't dignified to share the line up with Gene Simmons Family Jewels and Dog the Bounty Hunter. LOL.

I don't understand why Mark Burnett, who produces the better shows in that genre like Survivor and Celebrity Apprentice, would bother with this.

And why is Discovery interested in her? What, because they put on programs featuring polar bears and wolves, they figure now they can have a show in which some nutjob shoots at them from a helicopter?

By Tim McCree (Tim_m) on Thursday, March 25, 2010 - 10:28 pm:

Hunting With Sarah. Watch Sarah as she blows away helpless animals from a helicopter, then watch her gut them and eat them! Wholesome family fun, you betcha!

Sheesh! Discovery must really be desparate for new shows if they're considering this. Does Palin really need any more money? The woman is set for life. Go away, Sarah, just go away.

By steve McKinnon (Steve) on Saturday, March 27, 2010 - 8:02 am:

I guess John McCain is looking forward to his retirement-- he had Palin speak on his behalf on his re-election circuit. Uh, that's like taking poison and saying, 'Well, THIS time it won't hurt me!'

I think you meant to say, "I don't understand why Mark Burnett would stoop this low and insult the intelligence of people that liked him up until now."

For someone that likes to actually kill animals (ie hunting), why the H-E-Double Hockey Sticks would anyone think she deserves a show about wildlife? She's not exactly an expert, but I guess by the Animal Planet's way of thinking, I'm an expert on fire alarms, because I live in an apartment that has them on a monthly basis.

Now if you'll excuse, I have to go collect my million dollar check from that cool tv station, Apartment Planet!

It's celebrity status. How many times have you seen Tom Clancy on chat shows talked to like he's an expert on international relations? He's an insurance salesman turned author who does know a lot about military hardware and battle tactics. But his views on international relations and geopolitical issues is hopelessly unrealistic, as he demonstrated in his later Jack Ryan novels.

Though it surprises me that Celebrity Apprentice would be better than anything.

By Luigi Novi (Luigi_novi) on Wednesday, April 07, 2010 - 3:17 pm:

Well, he could make a lot more $$$$$ by producing a lot more shows than he currently does, but doesn't. That implies to me that he cares about quality, which is why he is mostly known for producing Survivor and The Apprentice, which are the better-produced entries in the genre, as opposed to all those trashy Surreal Life and Rock of Love spinoffs that populate VH1.

Looking over Burnett's Wikipedia article, it appears that he has produced a lot more than those two (I was familiar with Eco-Challenge, The Contender and Apprentice: Martha Stewart, because they weren't as successful or well-known as the aforementioned two, but I still thought that his success-per-show ratio was high. I guess I was going on the shows that I was familiar with, so it was a biased perception.

By steve McKinnon (Steve) on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 - 7:33 am:

I forced myself to watch her dancing on the show, and although I think she did 'okay', she did NOT deserve scores of 7, 7, and 8 from the judges!
And coincidently, Mommy is in the audience and they show her meeting Bristol's dance partner in Alaska.
Can you say...'RIGGED'???
I knew you could!

Oh, and way to look after your new kid, Bristol! And just like Kate Gosselin before you, all that time away from your baby with all that dancing and training and tv time is such a benefit to your baby!
Ugh!

By LUIGI NOVI (Lnovi) on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 - 9:06 am:

In order for Palin to be involved in rigging the show, she'd have to have some sort of power over it, and I doubt that she does. Though I don't watch the show regularly, I understand, from what little I have seen, that the dance partners get to know one another on a personal level, and sometimes interact outside of their practice sessions. (At least, I observed this with clips of when Laila Ali was on.) I don't see why Bristol's dance partner meeting her family is any different.

I also don't see why a mother cannot balance a job with children. Mothers do it all the time. Bristol obviously has a support system in her family, as well as means to hire assistance to supplement this, so we can presume that her child is well taken care of when Bristol is working. Why is this a problem?

For that matter, what do Bristol's appearances on DwtS have to do with political discussions involving her mother?

By Tim McCree (Tim_m) on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 - 8:20 pm:

Dude, this is Nitcental, thread go off topic all the time here.

By LUIGI NOVI (Lnovi) on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 - 11:39 pm:

Perhaps more often in the past, but not on a frequently basis recently (at least not that I've noticed).

I think it's a cheap shot to use Bristol's appearance on DwtS in order to attack her mother, when she's obviously just trying to support herself and her son, and is just a young person trying to learn from her mistakes and help others, through her activism and other business ventures.

Let's stick to politics here, shall we?

By steve McKinnon (Steve) on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 - 7:34 am:

I meant 'rigged' as in ABC was sucking up to Palin because she was there and the judges might have been afraid of Tea Party bias.
Frankly, Bristol is not a 'star', and doesn't belong on the show. She got knocked up, out of wedlock, and has the hypocritcal attitude of do as I say, not as I do.
It should be centered on those in the entertainment business, not the daughter of a political figure. There are thousands of tv and movie stars, singers, and sports stars, and they plop Bristol in there? That's why I question ABC's choice of her.
But you're right-- I'll lay off comments on Bristol's tv show as of now.

By LUIGI NOVI (Lnovi) on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 - 9:59 am:

I don't see why ABC or the judges would have cause to care about being accused of anti-Tea Party bias (if I understand what you're saying correctly). Aside from the fact that Palin is not a member of a Tea Party (she has merely endorsed the movement in general, and been a keynote speaker at their conventions), what do they care if someone accuses them of something? They're still going to do their jobs.

As for being a "star", well, a lot of the people on the show are arguably not "stars".

As for her abstinence advocacy, well, she may be a hypocrite, or she may be trying to educate others precisely because she learned from her mistakes. If she stood by her former sexual activity, while simultaneously advocating abstinence, then yeah, that would be hypocrisy. But if she made a mistake, acknowledged it, and is trying to prevent others from doing the same, that's not hypocrisy, that's merely using her own experience in order to warn others not to go down the same path. If a former drug addict tries to educate kids not to do drugs, is that hypocrisy?

" Aside from the fact that Palin is not a member of a Tea Party (she has merely endorsed the movement in general, and been a keynote speaker at their conventions"

She's virtually one of them, as far as I'm concerned, and I see no difference in her views from them. Endorsing is one thing, to say you agree with their principles, but when you go to one rally after another, backing candidates like McConnell, you're one of them. She just doesn't want to come right out and say it, since she knows it'll affect her political career in the future.

'As for being a "star", well, a lot of the people on the show are arguably not "stars".'

True, and I think it's not just the Bristol casting, but others in the past that have skewed the idea of 'star'. I'm very proud of Buzz Aldrin's accomplishments, but they should stick with, as I said before, entertainment figures, if they want to keep the title 'Dancing With The STARS', and not 'Dancing With The Famous People'.

'If a former drug addict tries to educate kids not to do drugs, is that hypocrisy?'

Again, I guess I'll have to agree with that, but only to a point. Bristol is just lucky that her family is well off, and can afford to keep an unplanned child, whereas many, many pregnant teens and young women can't afford to keep a baby, or even allow it to be born. It's pretty easy to take her point of view, when the family can afford to back you up.

It's reality, I tell you, it came true!!!!

ABRAHAM LINCOLN MEETS SARAH PALIN!

Here's a video I created with xtranormal.com. Two of the stock characters they had to choose from were Abe and Sarah, so I decided to create a scenario where the two traveled through time to meet each other. It took me about five minutes to make.

I've seen Sarah Palin's Alaska. Not bad as I thought it would be.

The latest episode had Sarah and Bristol on a boat that was fishing for Alaskan Halibuts (and those things are HUGE). Anyway, Sarah wanted Bristol to use the stun club on the fish. Bristol was reluctant at first, but then seemed to really get into it. Sarah even wondered what Bristol was picturing as she clobbered the fish.

I can imagine what, or who, Bristol was picturing: "That that, Levi!" WHACK! WHACK!

By Adam Bomb (Abomb) on Friday, December 10, 2010 - 7:42 am:

In a recent VH-1 show, VH-1 Divas Sault the Troops, Kathy Griffin took on Bristol Palin, calling her "the white Precious" and saying she was the only DWTS contestant to ever gain weight while on the show. More here. I don't know how you feel, but I thought the remark was very funny (no, I didn't see the show, but now I want to.) Second, when you hire Kathy Griffin for your show, you should know her style of humor, and not to belly-ache when she does her act. (According to the linked article, VH-1 wanted to cut the aforementioned comments, but decided against it.)

Anyone that's seen palin's unapologetic stance on killing that moose just to make her tv show 'interesting', might want to re-consider ever voting this person into office in the future.
I guaran-darn-tee you that such behavior will carry-over into her political career, and she'll be just as ruthless and indiffeerent to hurting actual people with her policies.
She may have catered to NRA-types, but I think those guys are out-numbered by people that wouldn't approve of such a heinous act for tv ratings.
No apologies, no remorse over killing a defenceless animal? I expected my disgust with this person to sink lower, but not through actions like this.

By Tim McCree (Tim_m) on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 - 10:22 pm:

Did anyone see the episode in which Sarah had Kate Gosselin and her brood on. They all went camping, and boy, the way Kate acted, like a whiny spoiled kid, didn't endear her to me (or Sarah for that matter).

Kate's kids at least seemed to having fun, but Kate just whined, moaned, and bitched throughout. Finally, she decides she's had enough and tells her kids their leaving. When some of the kids say they want to stay, Kate says: "You're not Gosselin's anymore, you're Palin's." What mother says something like that to her young kids!

In the end, Kate marched her brood off (probably to the nearest Holiday Inn) and Sarah and her family stayed. Sarah was a real trooper though, if she wanted to slap Kate (and I would blame her if she would), she didn't show it.

By Adam Bomb (Abomb) on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 - 6:52 am:

Did anyone see the episode in which Sarah had Kate Gosselin and her brood on?

Bill O'Reilly called Ms. Gosselin a "pinhead" for the very reasons you described. Of course, Gosselin was a pinhead long before that, but I guess the rest of the world has caught up. Also, that episode is available "On-Demand." I've avoided anything with Kate Gosselin like the plague, but now I may take a look (especially since I'll be on vacation, and may be looking to kill some time. Of course there are better ways to kill time than watching Kate Gosselin.)

In the end, Kate marched her brood off (probably to the nearest Holiday Inn)...
Holiday Inns are probably beneath Ms. Gosselin. Being that she's a "celebrity", she probably expects nothing less than Waldorf-style accomodations. Maybe calling her a "pinhead" was too complimentary.

Well, I would tell Kate to get lost. The way she acted was so childish. Her kids seemed more mature than she was.

When you compare the two woman, Sarah comes out better. As I said, she went out of her way to make Kate feel welcome. All Kate did was moan and complain because she wasn't in a five star hotel.

By Luigi Novi (Luigi_novi) on Monday, December 27, 2010 - 2:46 pm:

I think that Arizona counts as "real America" in Palin's book. Only East Coast elites & left coast liberals aren't. A western state that elects people to enact laws that punish brown people for living while Hispanic is totally OK with her.

Not sure where to put this so Luigi please feel free to move this to the appropriate forum. But I am totally gobsmacked that the political debate in the US leads to politicians getting shot. I put this down in Palin's page because many commentators are linking her ads depicting the Congresswoman who was shot with a gunsight over her face.
It really irks me that people think this kind of attack ad is acceptable. Maybe I'm a little spoilt because we really go for more humour based or statistic based ads in Australia. But why can't people in the US debate political matters without resorting to violent imagery and/or language??? Can someone please enlighten me??

By Tim McCree (Tim_m) on Monday, January 10, 2011 - 5:51 am:

It's just the anti-Palin nuts linking her like of guns and her defense of the 2nd Amendment (right to bear arms) to this shooting.

Despite what one may feel about her, Sarah Palin had NOTHING to do with that shooting. It was just some random nut with a gun. Most of the Republican Party suppor the right to bear arms, you may as well blame off of them.

It was just a random shooting, tragic as it was. I doubt the shooter cared much for anyones political leanings, even his own.

It is not "just" her support for (one interpretation) of the Second Amendment, though. Offhand, I say there's no connection either. It's just a coincidence.

I must add, all this hype about the 9 year old year being born on 9/11 is ridiculous. Why?

A. It's "hinting" that Sarah Palin is in cahoots with Al Queda.
B. If the 9 yr old were not born on 9/11, her date of birth would never have been mentioned.
C. It's equalizing the AZ shooting with the 9/11 massacre.

9/11 is a "hot button" issue. The Government, along with the Media is attempting to create an atmosphere of fear.

It's a mass-conspiracy to take away our guns.

Well, who's to say that Jared Loughner (the shooter) wasn't influenced by Obama's comment about bringing a gun to a political knife fight back in 08. Nobody knows what's going on in that kid's head.

Not to be too snarky, but the only link I can find between Loughner and Palin is that he used a big gun, and Palin likes to shoot big guns. If we're resorting to such strained comparisons, then why not blame Arnold Schwarzenegger for promoting gun violence in the Terminator films? Given Loughner's age (22), I think its safe to say that those would have had a bigger effect on his state of mind than some obscure map put out by Palin's PAC.

By davidh (Dh1852) on Monday, January 10, 2011 - 10:27 pm:

According to this article, Loughner has no political affiliation. He's been a registered Independent since he was old enough to vote, and he didn't even cast a ballot in 2010.

All of the evidence thus far suggests that Loughner's motives were based in his own mental illness than in any recognized political philosophy, conservative or liberal. I'm pretty sure Palin doesn't take any positions about government mind control, or strapping bombs to fetuses for that matter.

By Tim McCree (Tim_m) on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 - 6:30 am:

A writer for Mother Jones has examined Loughner's you-tube rantings in an attempt to understand his obsessions, and discovered point-for-point connections to the literature of the ultra-radical rightist group Sovereign Citizens.

In particular, an understanding of Sovereign Citizen talking points helps to make some sense of his rantings about grammar (Sovereign Citizens believe that the government has been manipulating the evolution of American English in order to sneak ideas into laws and enslave the populace.), and "ratifications" (The ratification of the post Civil War amendments 13, 14, and 15 -- especially 14 gutted the Bill of Rights according to right-wing groups like Sovereign Citizens.)

Loughner's pre-occupation with proving that most federal laws are not endorsed by the Constitution, and his mistrust of government money not backed by precious metal are also concerns included in extreme right-wing literature such as Sovereign Citizens'

Moderator: maybe it's time to give Loughner and the Giffords tragedy its own topic, since Palin's map is not the only, or even the main, right-wing source of fuel for Loughner's madness.

She said, during a visit to Boston on June 2, that Paul Revere warned the British during his famous Midnight Ride.

She later tried to cover her tracks by insisting that she did not mess up that comment, explaining that he warned the Americans, but also warned the British who were coming to take our guns away.

Revere and William Dawes didn’t warn the British were out to take anyone’s arms, as he didn’t yell out “the British are coming!”, nor did he use any bells. They and the 40 or so riders who rode through Middlesex County, Massachusetss had to be quiet in order to keep the British from learning that they knew they were coming– to seize weapons stores– as the countryside was filled with British army patrols, and the Massachusetts colonists, who were predominantly English in ethnic origin, and who still considered themselves British. Revere's warning, according to eyewitness accounts of the ride and Revere's own descriptions, was “The Regulars are coming out.”

Trailer for Palin's little propaganda flick, The Undefeated.

I don't know which is more humorous:

A. The fact that the trailer doesn't seem to include any mention of factual evidence or quotes by the speech-impaired Palin that would seem to vindicate public perception of her (we see a pair of scissors cutting a dollar bill and a document with spendings being apparently "slashed", even though she pushed for U.S. taxpayers to pay for her Bridge to Nowhere), preferring instead just to spotlight shills against a white background spouting what sound like publicity blurbs for her books...

or B. the fact that the movie is named The Undefeated. Last time I checked, she was defeated. She was defeated in the 2008 election, and then she quit her job as governor of Alaska, rather than stick it out to the end of the term she swore to serve, so that she could cash in on her newly-found fame, selling out her ostensible principles with a sweetheart media deal.

By Luigi Novi (Luigi_novi) on Monday, December 19, 2011 - 3:12 pm:

Long time Alaska resident and author Nick Jans commented in USA Today that Palin's reality show, Sarah Palin's Alaska, depicted Palin as being completely unfamiliar with the outdoor Alaskan lifestyle, observing that most of the supposed adventures on which Palin and her family embarked were "guided trips aimed at mass market tourists...requiring no skills beyond a pulse and the ability to open your wallet".

Jans points out that in one episode, instead of hunting within reasonable distance of home, Palin's party flies 600-plus miles to a remote camp in multiple chartered aircraft, which is typical of "the sort of experiential safari popular among high-end, non-resident sport hunters." Jans also observes that when Palin does kill an animal, Palin, the darling of Second Amendment supports, nervously needs to her father's guidance, asking him if the rifle kicks, has him repeatedly work the bolt, and still misses shot after shot before scoring the kill on the seventh round, which Jans says is enough ammunition for a decent hunter to kill five animals.

Moreover, the animal she kills turns out to be a "skinny juvenile cow caribou", which Jans says would yield, "boned out, we're talking maybe 100 pounds of meat." In light of the fact that Palin attributes this trip to the family's need to replenish their dwindling freezer with wild meat, Jans also cites this story by Bonnie Fuller at Hollywood Life, which calculates that, given the $42,400 cost of the trip, works out to $141.33 per lb. of meat. Fuller comments: "Just to put this is perspective, the Palins could have filled their freezer with ribeye steak at $10.99 a lb. from Alaska’s Mr. Prime Beef, which is based in Anchorage and ships anywhere in the state."

Just heard that Sarah and Todd Palin got divorced this year.

Oh no!

I mean they were such a perfect family, what with their wife beating son and daughter who is willing to open her legs for anyone.

Whatever could have gone wrong!?

Dang, you just broke my sarcasm meter.

By Tim McCree (Tim_m) on Saturday, August 22, 2020 - 5:33 am:

Except he's British and wasn't born in America so it won't happen.

Divorced, a wife beating son, and a daughter who'll seemingly sleep with anything that moves.

And they (the Republicans) call themselves the Family Values Party!

Sarah says that she'll be vaccinated "over her dead body." And that she'll stop her kids from getting it too.

Well, Sarah, I hope you don't plan on eating in any restaurants. Without proof of vaccination (a QR code), they won't let you in. And it doesn't matter who you are.

However, Sarah, all your kids are adults now, and are capable of making their own decisions. If one of them chooses to be vaccinated, you, ma'am, are in no position to stop them. What are you gonna do? Disown them?

By Adam Bomb (Abomb) on Friday, January 28, 2022 - 7:33 pm:

You called it, Tim. Ms. Palin was spotted dining in Manhattan restaurants. Even though she has been diagnosed with Covid. More on Ms. Palin's (unvaccinated) journey to the Big Apple is here.

That's Sarah, thinking of no one but herself. She probably thinks she's immune. There is no vaccine, for stupid.

At least they seated her outside.
