Lister says that he must have sex in the AR suite because he's drying up the ship's water supply with his cold showers. Apparently, Lister's never heard of [something we shouldn't really mention to keep this family site relatively clean! ;-) Moderator].

How come some of the Germans speak in English (even when there not talking to Ace) and others speak in German!

Because when Rob Grant left he took with him all that was good about Red Dwarf and this episode is just one of sixteen foul mockeries of a once great series.

Well you have a right to your opinion but that's not an explanation for the nit.

What are the other 15?

By Canadian Dwarfer on Thursday, September 09, 1999 - 1:12 pm:

Use your imagination, Gord!

So, about 3 million, 500 odd years in the future there will be a universe with Nazis? Or does the dimension jump also carry the person through time? Another possibility is that different universes run at different speeds, or that some universes start later than others, so that the original Ace's universe was experiencing the 23rd century at the same time as Rimmer's universe was 3 million years past the 23rd century.

In Legion, Legion said that a hard light hologram could not be damaged, but 'Ace's hologram is damaged by bullets. (I guess his universe's Legion just isn't as good an inventer.)

The AR unit seems to have changed since Gunmen Of The Apocalypse.

While it was funny to watch Lister use the cheat codes, don't you think that AR program writers would also have created 'X-rated' programs as well as games?

200 years passed between the end of Series V and the beginning of Series VI. So why doesn't anyone wonder why Ace is still alive and well after 2 centuries?

In Dimension Jump it was indicated that dimension jumping was a one-way trip with no way back, but Ace's hairdresser is in one dimension.

Since it's revealed that 'Ace' is wearing a wig, why would he need a hairdresser or have his highlights done? (For that matter, just project the image of hair like he does the jacket?)

Ace says he took over after the original Ace died, but then he reveals that he isn't even the second, then the shot at the end indicates that the number is somewhere in the thousands.

Anyone else feel a bit of a Star Wars similarity with Obi-Wan, I mean Ace, teaching Rimmer to be a jedi kni... um, hero.

The 'Ace' hologram doesn't have an H on the forehead. Does this mean that Holly could have removed it so he looked normal? (Well, that would help explain the end of Timeslides. Rimmer wasn't alive, Holly just made him think he was.)

Why would a bazookoid need a blank?

I would think that inflatable women by the 23rd century would look more lifelike. And what happened to Inga? Still on Red Dwarf? For that matter, why bring Rachel along on Starbug in the first place? They didn't know Red Dwarf was going to be stolen. Or was this a replacement Rachel?

Maybe they found a new AR unit on a derelict space craft.

Alright, I'll have a crack at it.

Obviously, you have a low opinion of this episode, though I don't entirely agree with you. Marooned was a bit mediocre. DNA I thought was a bit uneven in its quality. Though I didn't see it, there have been low opinions about Meltdown. Demons and Angels was pretty bad (especially after having seen a great episode like Quarintine). I could have done without Psirens, Emohawk, and Out of Time. And Tikka to Ride and Duct Soup were horrid. Hmm, that's ten of sixteen. Though I'll admit that there were some I didn't see due to bad reception on the night they were broadcast.

Unless I am mistaken, Gordon, the sixteen craplets are the combined episodes of Series 7 and 8. I personally, do not agree with this, but I think it is what that poster meant.

Nice way to write Rimmer out.

Chris Barrie was downgraded to recurring star for the rest of this season.
