Just an observation, look at Ace's hand when he opens the airlock. The door opens before he actually touches the panel.
One other problem: How would being sucked out-side of the ship 'kill' Rimmer?
Eventually his light bee would run out of energy, and he would cease to be. Or perhaps the lightbee is unable to function in the extreme cold and vacuum, once again causing the hologram to snuff it.
I can buy that.
In creating Duane Dibbley, Rob Grant and Doug Naylor really created a good role-model for everyone at NitCentral. Not me, though. I CAN get into a science fiction convention!
Kryten says, "We're as guilty as the man behind the grassy knoll." Interesting statement, given the events of Tikka To Ride.
Starbug's in space and it's on fire. Even if escaping oxygen was feeding the flames, does anyone else think it burned way too long?
Apparently the Emohawk can also alter the appearance of it's victims as well as its own shape since it altered Cat's Teeth, and the hairstyle of both Cat & Rimmer.
Where in the cockpit did 'Dwane' get those clothes, thermos & lunchbox?
This episode, like Gunman Of The Apocalypse, also has Western elements. Frontier Justice & Indian-like GELFs.
If the GELF daughter was the "looker" then why is she being married to Lister in exchange for the o/g unit? If she was so good looking and a chief's daughter, I would think there would be numerous suiters. (Or is she pregnant and needs a husband to cover up the shame it would bring?)
From his secret dweeb compartment.
I wondered why the Kinatowawi tribe has O/G Unit written in English on the side, given Kryten has to interpret everything - unless they looted it from an Earth craft.
I thought that the GELFs were from Earth.... I got this idea from the books. However, its been a while since I read them.....
That's true but it's 3 million years in the future and they wouldn't all have necessarily have spoken English. If Esperanto was as in common use as Red Dwarf makes out, I would have expected to seen it written in that language.
As I say, they could have looted it from anm Earth craft where English was spoken.
This episode (I think it's this one) contains a very bad piece of characterization. Kryten says he'll sacrifice himself and apologizes for not being able to do the laundry. Lister tells him to sit down and adds "I'm not doing my own laundry!" This is completely against everything we've seen before. He would never think of Kryten that way.
he's appealing to Kyrtens sence of guilt at not being around to do it in attempt to trick him into not sacrificing himself.
The reason behind the English on the OG unit I would imagine is that Rimmer does brand all GELF's as scavengers. Maybe the OG unit came off a crashed ship?
Nice to have Ace Rimmer back. Why didn't he chose to stay that way?
it would be living a lie, as Ace is not the real Rimmer.
Technically speaking, the real Arnold Rimmer died three million years ago.
