Camille

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Red Dwarf: Red Dwarf IV: Camille
By Johnny Veitch on Sunday, December 06, 1998 - 8:53 am:

For most of the first season the different levels of the ship were called levels. In "Stasis leak" they were called floors. In both instances they were numbered from the bottom to the top. In this episode there`s the Penthouse Suite on A-Deck. Now they use letters, are called decks, and are lettered down from the top!

By Chris Thomas on Monday, December 07, 1998 - 2:51 am:

Rimmer probably did it when he was bored, using the skutters, rather than playing silly games like the Cat and Lister.

By Chris Tucker on Monday, January 25, 1999 - 10:40 am:

As I remember, there were MANY many more than 26 decks ... surely that would make the system slightly more complicated.

By Johnny Veitch on Sunday, January 31, 1999 - 4:37 am:

Maybe when they reach the 27th level it goes deck 1, deck 2, deck 3... etc.

But I`ve got another nit: The scene of Starbug when Kryten and Camille are "joyriding" is swiped from "Bodyswap".

By Gordon Lawyer on Thursday, April 01, 1999 - 7:21 am:

Why was Kryten having such trouble lying at the beginning of this episode? In just the previous one, he said the reason he could handle the concept of there being no Silicon Heaven was because "I knew I was lying".

By Mike Konczewski on Monday, April 05, 1999 - 6:40 am:

He was lying to another android, not a humanoid. Androids are probably programmed not to lie to humans.

By Keith Alan Morgan on Thursday, August 05, 1999 - 5:19 am:

Also in The Last Day, Kryten lied to Lister. He said that as his master Lister had to die with Kryten. While he may have been in deadpan joke mode when he said it, it is still a lie.

By Keith Alan Morgan on Tuesday, August 10, 1999 - 1:19 am:

What used to be a window in series I & II is now some kind of TV/communications screen.

The 4000 GTI series of mechanoid must have been built in Egypt. There are little pyramids on Camille's chest. ;-)

So when Lister was going to put on his Spider-Man costume, was it the red & blue costume, the black & white costume, or the Spider-Man 2099 costume?

Real Camille looked like some kind of fleshy Dalek.

Hector appears to have arrived in a Starbug type vehicle. So maybe the reason why Red Dwarf has so many Starbug's is they find them lying all over the place littering up space? ("Well, it's another Starbug. When we get back to Earth, we'll make a fortune at the recycling center.")

It was hard to tell with my TV's reception, but was that supposed to be a tear coming down Kryten's cheek after he tells Camille to get on the ship?

In the credits Lister's fantasy woman was listed as Kochanski Camille, so why didn't she look like CP Grogan?

By Richard Davies on Wednesday, August 11, 1999 - 3:21 pm:

CP Grogan wasn't available for this so they used Suzanne Ratigan instead. (It must be how Lister wants Kochanski to look?!)

By Richard Davies on Wednesday, March 17, 2004 - 1:58 pm:

It would have been interesting if they had ben able to get Normal Lovett back for Holly's Camille, or failing that a ZX81.

By Thande on Wednesday, May 26, 2004 - 3:55 pm:

"Normal" Lovett? :) As opposed to "Abnormal" Lovett?

By Thande on Wednesday, May 26, 2004 - 3:56 pm:

Oh, and another possible for the "TNG copies RD" tote board (see "The Perfect Mate", although the idea is probably older than either episode).

By Keith Alan Morgan (Kmorgan) on Saturday, February 14, 2015 - 6:16 am:

I believe the webcomic Freefall refenced some dialogue from this episode.

By Tim McCree (Tim_m) on Sunday, January 26, 2020 - 5:20 am:

How many human created life forms are wandering around out there?

By Judibug (Judibug) on Sunday, January 26, 2020 - 10:15 am:

There are no aliens in RD though. Everything the Boys from the Dwarf have encountered is from Earth or human-made.

By Tim McCree (Tim_m) on Monday, January 27, 2020 - 5:20 am:

I already know that.

Seems that the premise of RD is that, in all the universe, Earth alone had life.

By Natalie Granada Television (Natalie_granada_tv) on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 - 4:54 pm:

The *plan* was for Lister to see Camille as Kochanski, but late in the game, they realised that it would have tipped off Lister to Camille's true nature too early in the plot. The credits were made in advance so it was too late to change them.

By Tim McCree (Tim_m) on Thursday, February 20, 2020 - 5:22 am:

Good idea. Not wanting to give it away too soon.
