Isn't there an episode where Lister takes a bite of a strawberry filled with maggets?

According to Wikipedia, the dog food was tuna mixed with meat jelly.

IIRC, we don't actually see Lister put the maggot-riddled strawberry in his mouth in Demons and Angels; we only see it on the bench. I assume that clever camera angles saved Craig from actually eating the maggoty one!

Well, I also remember that Lister was forced to eat a live tarentula in that episode, and that there was no clever camera angles in that scene.

Some of the food in the early episodes was stuff Craig Charles was snacking on & carried onto the set, as it seemed OK that Lister would do the same.

The mashed potato in Bodyswap was real, & loads of it ended up Craig's nose.

It must have tasted even worse than a normal tarantula, becase it had come from the bad version of Red Dwarf
