Not as good as part one, but still quite good. Some nits though-
1. The luck virus was injected before, not swallowed.
2. Not sure, but I think Listers watch changes throughout the episode- from silver to black?
Some good scenes though- especially the Dibley family and Kryten in the loos.
Comment on the Dibley family idea: Why would the Cat even consider dressing up as Duane Dibley?
I thought Kryten's 'hostage taking' scene in the loos was priceless.
Since Kryten was built after the crew of Red Dwarf was killed, wouldn't Kryten be considered 'future technology' to the recreated crew and how do you go about resetting future technology to its original factory settings? They only have Kryten's word that he was just a sanitation droid. For all they know that might have been a cover story to hide the fact that he could have been a battle droid.
The scene with all four of them stopping in the hall and looking at the camera, with music playing in the background, made me think of a music video, but I'm not certain what one. (The Beatles perhaps?) Does anyone know if this is a spoof or not?
I thought it was from Reservoir Dogs but as I've never seen the film I couldn't confirm that.
First off, isn't it "Dwibley"?
My nit concerns the erasel of Kryten's emotions. Specifically, guilt and pleasure. I thought that the only joy in a Mechanoid's life was working (and watching Androids). Also, if the guilt isn't there, what's to stop Kryten from killing us all with no regrets?
No- it isn't.
Interesting point- He had this removed in Polymorph which turned him into a psychopath.
The scene *is* a parody from Reservoir Dogs and the name is Duane Dibley - no W in the second name.
Just a thought: in seasons one and two there were signs indicating Level Nivelo (English and Esperanto for what level they were on) but I don't recall seeing any signs like that in the resurrected Red Dwarf.
Obviously, these signs weren't in the "original" design of Red Dwarf, and were only added when it was "scaled down" due to budget constraints (the episode explanation for why the new Red Dwarf looks so much classier than the old one...)
Are you saying another episode later on from here explains this? Because you've totally lost me otherwise...
Did they actually pick up some of the sexual magnetism virus back in series five? I thought Kryten simply referred to the fact that sexual magnetism was a positive virus and they only had some of the luck virus.
Why does the luck virus cancel out the sexual magnetism virus?
At the Captain's dinner, Rimmer explains that travelling faster than light may produce Future Echoes and this seems to be news to everyone. However in Future Echoes when Holly is asked about them he says he explained them already, in a way that indicated that future echoes were an old, already known phenomenon.
I had thought that the "Data Doctor" was a part of Kryten's programming, like a virus scan or a defrag program is part of a computer's.
The recreated crew seem okay that they're three million years away from Earth.
