Major Nits About the Show, Characters, Etc.

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: I Love Lucy: The Kitchen Sink (Fred Finally Fixed It!): Major Nits About the Show, Characters, Etc.
Anybody got any really major nits about the show or characters?
I've got one to start you off. In "Lucy Takes a Cruise to Havana", it's shown that Ricky knew English when he was still living in Cuba. However, during I Love Lucy's run, numerous jokes were made about him not knowing English when he first came to America.

Oh, and I forgot another that's always bugged me. Whenever Ricky bursts into a long string of Spanish, there are English words laced in there. Did he just forget the Spanish word for that word? Of course, I don't deal in reality so I can't give you the obvious explanation, but it does sound a little weird -- and when Ricky tells Little Ricky "Little Red Riding Hood" in Spanish, this happens too.

I think this was done for laughs. Desi was a very funny guy-funnier than he was given credit for.

Not a nit or anything, but anyone notice how many
hats Desi wore on the show?(I mean in the capacity
of actor,band leader,executive producer,etc.)

Ok nit time, have you ever noticed in the credits
when Desi's band is mentioned his name is spelled
with a Z but in the rest of the credits it's an
S?

These comments aren't necessarily nits, but there doesn't seem to be anywhere else to post them, so here I go.

Is it just me, or... well, watching the show when I was younger, the fanbase for this series was gender neutral. That is, both men and women could share their enjoyment of the show. But in recent years, it seems the fanbase has become geared more towards women. It's become a Chick TV Show. Like Sex and the City. Does anyone else share this feeling about the series?

The other thing is, well, I've been watching the series on DVD. I'm up to the 4th season. One thing I noticed while watching season three is that... well, we all know that Fred, Ethel and Ricky constantly put Lucy down for her lack of talent. They never wanted to let her join in any kind of musical/stage production because of it. Yet, if you watch the third season, this doesn't seem to be a problem. Lucy is allowed to join the stage with her husband and friends without anyone cringing at her singing voice or (lack of) acting talent. Much less trying to keep her from joining in. It's an anomaly of the third season that I found interesting to note while watching it.
