Is there any indication that this was the final episode? I've seen very few of the Connecticut-based episodes.

hi gary some of these boards have high traffic some low. to anser your question. like all shows with the exception of the fuative shows back then just ended. so good bye no wrapup just a normal ep like any other. so no nothing in the ep indracates or says goodbye

Can't answer it if we don't know it, Gary.

However, I know it - yes, this was the last episode of "I Love Lucy", but no, they didn't say anything about it being so. There were no tearful goodbyes or anything, sort of like the last episode of the original series of Trek.

With "Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour" they had a chance to do a real ending, but they didn't, for whatever reason, leaving us with the sad ending to the chauffeur episode.

I think Desi wanted to go to the occasional hour-long special format for at least two years before he actually did. No doubt that he was exahausted, with the tremendous grind he took on. Don't forget, they also did more episodes of a series per season back then than they do now.
