Jack backstory VII

Notes:
-Jack got his tattoos on his trip to Thailand (mentioned in Lockdown). They say "He walks amongst us, but he is not one of us." in Chinese
-The people taken by the Others make an appearance in this episode. Among them are Cindy and the kids from The Other 48 Days
-Nicknames: Kate is Magellan, Karl is Bobby (Brady), and Alex gets Sally Slingshot
-The others have at least one other powered boat

Unanswered Questions: Why do the Others want to give some of the crash survivors a better life? What exactly were they supposed to be watching? What does Cindy mean when she says it's "more complicated"?

Usually I'd say something about the Asians-have-mysterious-psychic-powers cliché, but with Desmond running around, that's kind of hard.

I think we finally got a revealing flashback, even though we don't know what its consequences are yet.

I'm taking care of my two-year old niece at the moment so I may have missed something, but why the heck would she have written the tattoos in Chinese and not Thai?

Apparently, there are a lot of Chinese speakers in Thailand. If that's the case, then it wouldn't be that much of a stretch.

Other revelations: Ethan was the Others' doctor and surgeon.

Actually, that he was their doctor (or one of them) was revealed in Maternity Leave.

Oops! Forgot about that one!

That'll be thirty days in the shark tank for you. :-)

I'm sorry, we don't have sharks. We do have sea bass, and they're ill-tempered.
