The Others offer Locke the chance to join them if he does one thing: kill his own father. Unable to perform the task, Locke seeks someone he thinks will. Meanwhile, Desmond is reluctant to tell Jack about the recently arrived pilot.

Apparently I (or the source I read) was wrong. Locke Island Flashback and Locke backstory VII

Notes:
-This is the fourth episode in which the backstory deals solely with events that take place after the crash.
-This episode takes place at least three days after D.O.C. and eight days after The Man from Tallahassee.
-It turns out that Anthony Cooper is the real Sawyer. Because of this, James "Sawyer" Ford kills him.
-Cooper believes that he's dead and in hell. According to him, he was in a horrible auto accident right before he awoke on the island.
-Cindy seems to be a full-fledged Other.
-The parachutist, Naomi, works for a company hired out by Penelope to track Desmond down.
-Naomi's helicopter was launched from a ship 80 miles away from the island.
-The island did not appear on any maps and after she discovered it, her helicopter's equipment malfunctioned. It's a Bermuda TrIsland!
-According to Naomi, the wreckage of 815 was discovered at the bottom of a trench near Bali.
-Locke tells Sawyer that Juliet is a mole and gives him the recorder she used in D.O.C.
-Ben is the latest to utter the "Don't tell me what I can't do" phrase.
-According to Ben, Juliet is determining which Lostaways are pregnant so that the Others can kidnap them.

Unanswered Questions: What is it Jack and Juliet know that Kate doesn't? Why won't Jack tell her? Does Ben know that Locke took the tape recorder? Why did the helicopter malfunction when it found the island? Why is the island not on any map? How did Cooper get there? If the plane crashed on the island, how did its/identical wreckage end up near Bali? Why does Danielle need the dynamite? Was Alpert really working against Ben? Who built the column to which Cooper was tied and why? Why was Sayid digging? Is Locke really special?

Well, it didn't focus on one of S1's mysteries....

But to repeat what Luigi said... HOLY *&%^@*$!

There's just one thing I want to say.

HOLY *&%^@*$!

See what you started, Luigi? :-O

Liked the "Philosopher's" moment when Rousseau came in, but then, I'm easily amused :-)

"Locke."
"Rousseau."

Imitation always flatters me, guys. Thank you. And I'm assuming you know which revelation it was that elicited that reaction, given the time at which I said it.

ScottN: Liked the "Philosopher's" moment when Rousseau came in, but then, I'm easily amused

"Locke."
"Rousseau."

Luigi Novi: And what's interesting is that Desmond and Alpert were also both in the ep, albeit not in the same scene. Wouldn't it have been cool if somehow all four of them had somehow been in that scene? :-)

We get the age old kiss nit when Sawyer and Kate perform it. They go right, angle changes and suddenly they're left. Of course, you want to see the actor's faces, but there is that whole "nitpickers don't deal with reality" thing.

When Locke mentions that he's never killed anyone, that got me thinking. Has he ever even fired a gun on the island? I'm trying to think of an instance, but I can't.

Back to the Black Rock! And a token appearance by Rousseau. Very nice.

After seeing Mikhail pop up after seeming dead, I hoped that Locke or Sawyer feel for a pulse. Oh well.

At the end, I couldn't help but tell the screen to "carry him fireman-style!"

ScottN: Well, it didn't focus on one of S1's mysteries....

Except for the real Sawyer's identity, brought up in both Confidence Man and Outlaws.

Even though it seemed that half of the internet had already guessed Sawyer's real identity (much like the Jack/Claire sibling thing), the moment where James says "How about that? Saywer's my name, too" was a great and satifying one.

Was it just me or did Cooper's accent seem more pronounced in this one? He seemed to have a bit of a southern twang to it that I don't remember him having.

I think in regards to the discovery of the plane is that the Others or Widmore Corp somehow faked the discover and the robotic footage of the passengers and crew in the plane. Perhaps through the mystical nature of the island or the box. Or maybe a government conspiracy involved in the cover up.

I think Cooper was told by Ben to say those things about hell. That Cooper was probably kidnapped before Ben's capture by Danielle to play mind games with Locke.
