Juliet meets Ben outside of room 23 in the middle of some kind of crisis. It seems that the subject within the room, presumably Walt, has caused another major disturbance. When Ben tries to dismiss him as just a child, Juliet takes him outside and shows him the stairway, littered with dead birds.

Time Placement: Sometime during Season Two

Unanswered question: What exactly did Walt do?

My wife pointed out that when Walt and Michael met in Australia, a bird ran into the window and killed itself... apparently Walt caused a whole flock of them to dive-bomb his window (an avian version of Aqua-man?) The question is, did he do this intentionally to try and break through the window to escape, or was the bird-attraction a side-effect of whatever he WAS doing?
