Juliet episode III (backstory)

Notes:
-Juliet hears the whispers right before her encounter with Harper. They come again before she disappears.
-Goodwin was married to Harper.
-The Tempest is a former DHARMA station that served as a power plant for the village and other facilities (a point brought up by Locke in The Man from Tallahassee). It can also release a deadly toxic gas over the island, which Ben presumably did to end the Purge in the Others' favor in The Man Behind the Curtain.
-Charles Widmore owns the freighter and apparently has some interest in the island. Ben believes he wants to exploit it.
-Locke now knows the identity of Ben's plant on the freighter.

Unanswered Questions: How did Harper slip away and/or disappear? How are the whispers involved? How did Widmore learn about the island? Is Ben correct about his motivations? Who is it Harper believes Juliet reminds Ben of?

I know that PAL, but from the preview, Ben's spy has to be either Michael or Walt, and I'm betting on Michael, simply because he's in the credits.

So Harper is The Other's shrink.

Why did Charlotte and Faraday just go off like that? Why didn't they tell our Lostaways what was going on? Didn't they realize what it was going to look like? (Yeah, I know... Short Show Syndrome).

NANJAO. Among his other talents, Hurley is an excellent horseshoes player.

What was Ben carrying at the end? Bedding?

I thought it was newspapers he was carrying.

Pretty lame episode. I know a lot of fans gawk after Juliet, but I'm not one of them, nor has her character developed enough sympathy in me that I want to see episodes and flashbacks dedicated to her. The episode also reduced Ben in my mind from an interesting enemy to a pathetic, possessive teenager (or worse yet, an adult stuck in teenage development)

And why did she ditch Jack and go off alone after essentially begging him to help her? And nice coincidence that he and Kate were able to find the station.

Eh, I forgot Kate's tracking skills were at play.

I'm unclear about something. How many other Others are there? The last season finale killed off the ones we knew, but there are more left, aren't there? And where are they? Why haven't we seen them, and why are they seemingly so unconcerned to get Ben back (this time)?

By Josh M on Saturday, March 08, 2008 - 9:59 pm:

The last time we saw them was in the finale when Ben told Richard to go to the temple. I can't remember how many there were in that group, but I don't remember it being all that many.

Is Ben now living in his old house, with Locke? Seeing as how Hurley and Sawyer are roomies, it seems there were not enough houses for everyone to have their own, and someone definitely would have taken Ben's when they got there, as it would undoubtedly be the nicest one.
