When Jack gets sick, Juliet realizes that he needs his appendix removed and decides that they need to operate immediately. Meanwhile, Sawyer leads Claire, Aaron, and Miles back to camp, but things get complicated when they encounter a few familiar faces. In the future, Jack's relationship with Kate may not be the happy ending it seems.

Jack episode (with Kate and Hurley) IX. (flash forward)

Notes
-Karl and Danielle are confirmed dead when Miles finds them.
-After the island, Jack not only dates but also gets engaged to Kate.
-The flash forward seems to take place between The Beginning of the End and Through the Looking Glass.
-Charlotte can understand Korean and promises to Jin to get Sun off of the island.
-There is more evidence of Miles ESP as he seems to hear the events that occurred at the end of Meet Kevin Johnson.

Unanswered Questions: Why did Jack get sick when others like Rose, Locke, and Jin were cured? Who is Jack not supposed to raise? Is it Aaron? Why was Jack so affected by the message? Why did Christian visit Jack? What did Kate promise to Sawyer? Where did Christian take Claire?

Well, it's a good thing those guys were in such a hurry that they made such shallow graves for Karl and Danielle, otherwise Miles may not have found them.

I can't imagine Jack, being a doctor, putting off treating his appendicitis and just toughing it out.

What is the deal with (toddler) Aaron? The first time we saw him his face looked weird, and since then we've only seen him sleeping or with his face covered or hidden. I thought maybe they were trying for CGI superimposition to make him look like Claire. Or maybe they're making him the "Wilson" of Lost (from Home Improvement, not Castaway).

Why did Christian visit Jack?

Pretty sure that was the Smoke Monster (hence the smoke alarm), just as the Smoke Monster appeared as Charlie to Hurley (you can see slight black smoke when he disappears).

Juliet tells Kate that they can't move Jack to the med station because it might rupture his appendix. Why not use a makeshift stretcher.

Given that no one trusts Daniel and Charlotte, why, when Daniel says he's familiar with medical instruments, does Charlotte go along with him, Sun and Jin? Daniels is the apparently harmless physicist, whereas Charlotte is not.

Jack's illness worries Rose, because, as she tells Bernard, no one gets sick on the island. Isn't she aware of the people on it who've died?

Any time Jin gets to assert himself in non-flashback scenes, and show how smart and adaptable he is is welcome, and thus, the scene in which he gets Charlotte to admit she knows Korean was a really nice one.

Oh, wow, I totally didn't get the smoke monster-smoke detector connection.

I assumed that would be part of moving Jack and too risky in Juliet's estimation. Plus, it would take a long time to carry Jack to the Staff and I doubt she wanted to delay at all.

Most of the people who have died on the island have been killed or had some cause that relatively quickly led to their demise. No one who has died did so because they simply developed on illness as Jack did. There are those, though, that did get sick (like Claire and Aaron, IIRC) so I'm wondering why she didn't take that into account.

And I wonder if Rose knows about Jack's operation on Ben.
