Ilana is not happy when she discovers Ben killed Jacob and it appears that the master manipulator's time may be up. Elsewhere, Jack and Hurley encounter someone who might have an answer or two.

In another time and another place, Dr. Linus, high school teacher, is rather unsatisfied with his school's principal and, in grand Linus tradition, comes up with a scheme to replace him.

Notes:
-Ben episode
-While Richard cannot kill himself, he claims someone else can.
-Jack hypothesizes that his higher purpose on the island will keep him from being killed in some circumstances, similar to Michael's situation in Meet Kevin Johnson.
-Miles digs up the diamonds buried with Nikki and Paulo back in Exposé.
-In the alternate timeline, Dr. Linus works at the same high school as Dr. Arzt and, as we saw previously, where Locked substituted. One of Linus' top students just so happens to be Alex Rousseau.
-Ben's dad Roger is also alive and infirm, regretting that they had to leave the island and the DHARMA Initiative when Ben was a boy.
-Widmore's back with a submarine this time.

Couple of random thoughts.

Ben picking up the rifle and following Ilana, stunned, nicely mirrors the closing scene of the previous episode.

So Ben has finally found absolution.

No nits or notes, just... great episode. Like the Locke-focused one earlier back, really feels like it's redeeming a relatively slow and ponderous season six. (Not that the previous episode was that slow or ponderous... ;-) )
