Sawyer gets a task from the man in black to recon the Hydra Island and see if there are any more survivors from Flight 316 there. What he finds is a little more surprising.

In a time that could have been and is, Sawyer is a cop partnered with Miles and is trying to keep a secret from his past buried.

Notes:
-Sawyer episode
-Widmore and his people have set up on the Hydra island. The remaining 316 survivors are all dead.
-Widmore's people are setting up a sonic fence, similar to the one used by DHARMA and the Others to keep the smoke monster/MIB out.
-In the alternate timeline, James is a (not completely clean) cop with Miles as his partner. He's still searching for Anthony Cooper. He goes on a date with Miles' friend who happens to be Charlotte, an archaeologist rather than an anthropologist. Charlie's brother Liam shows up at the department looking for his arrested brother and, finally, James re-encounters fugitive Kate, who he helped escape custody at LAX in LA X. The code word to his fellow police is "LaFleur", which is, of course, the alias Sawyer used when living with DHARMA.
-Miles mentions that his father, Dr. Chang, is working at a museum in this reality. Charlotte works for him.
-Sawyer plans to let Widmore and the man in black duke it out and steal Widmore's sub in the process.
-Number sighting: The clock on Sawyer's nightstand says 8:42.
-James has copies of Watership Down, A Wrinkle In Time, and Lancelot in his apartment, all books Sawyer read previously on the island.
Unanswered Questions:
What killed the Ajira survivors? What does Widmore have locked up? How is the man in black planning to get that plane to fly?

Well, thanks to his alternate self, Sawyer apparently wins the Getting Most Main Character Tail Award. Ana, Kate, Juliet, and now Charlotte. Smooth.

Sayid's looking like he might be heading toward an ugly end. Or he'll make some sacrifice to save them all.

By Kevin (Kevin) on Sunday, March 21, 2010 - 4:30 am:

That's not Sayid any more that Locke is Locke.

By Andrew Gilbertson (Zarm_rkeeg) on Thursday, March 25, 2010 - 7:01 am:

The question is, will he and Claire, and possibly even whatever Locke is still within the MIB (as evidenced by his use of Locke's 'Don't tell me what I can't do' and knowledge of Locke's perceptions of things) be given a chance for redemption at the end? Or are they already casualties, walking dead, consigned to their fate?

Or will they- and perhaps some of the more tragically departed throughout the years- just get a second chance via their still-living alternate selves somehow being merged into this reality? Ten shows left to find out...
