Favorite Villians

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Buffy, The Vampire Slayer: Buffy Mortuary: Favorite Villians
By Scott McClenny on Saturday, May 10, 2003 - 1:47 pm:

So since this is the final few weeks I was just wondering what everyone's favorite villians were.
My top five are:

5.Harmony,a bit of a ditz it's true but she has more personality as a vampire than she had as a
Cordette besides it's always fun to watch her
mess things up!
favorite Harmony line:"So Slayer we finally meet!"
to which Buffy replied:"Harmony,we've ALREADY met!":)

4.Mayor Wilkins, the consumate politician and not only that but one that KEEPS his promises.Must have been a Democrat though as he turned into a
giant old demon snake in the end!LOL!!!!:)

3.Drusilla,insane and loving it!She and Spike made the perfect foils for Buffy and the Scooby Gang.

2.Spike,when he was bad he was really good.Ok,so now technically he's on the side of the good guys, but let's remeber at the beginning he was one of the baddies, probably the greatest of the
villians Buffy has ever fought to.
However for my top pick of personal favorite villian I have chosen:

1.Glory,not only was she an evil Goddess from a demon dimension who wanted to open a door way home and •••• Earth to hell in the process she was also one snazzy dresser!:)
That and she was always there with a good line.

Angelus was the best villain the series had.

I really like the Mayor because he was funny. Really all of the big bads have been ok.

I'll just throw out a couple I like.

The Mayor and Faith together, the chemistry of a father/daughter relationship not only made them enjoyable, but certainly made them stand out from the general array of Big Bads.

The Gentleman. Not only looked impressive with their frozen grins, suit attire, and levetation act, but it's the little touches like the Gentleman clapping in delight that made them one of the best one episode villians.

The Master was the most effective villian... he killed Buffy every time they met. (For the record: he hypnotized her and killed her in a dream she had in a season one episode, he bit her and drank a tiny bit of her blood, leaving her to drown in a pool in "Prophecy Girl," and last but not least he snapped her neck in "The Wish." He's the only villian with such a good batting average against slayers.

Faith was a deadly villian and a great dresser.

The Mayor was the all-time best. He had serious menace to him but a good sense of humor too. I loved seeing him freak out in "Consequences" after the scoobies do their commando mission on City Hall.

Dark Willow was good with the puns and very good at keeping Buffy on her toes.

The First Evil was a terrible Big Bad overall but had some very effective moments, like infiltrating the group as that annoying southern girl. I also liked how it would pop up from time to time as a familiar face (like Nikki Wood or the Mayor.). I think the First had the best introduction of any villian, with the speech to Spike in "Lessons."

I liked Glory because as I said she was such a snazzy dresser and always had an interesting come back. But also her agenda was rather quite simple compared to some of the others, instead of wanting to dominate the world she simply wanted to go home and never mind that all heck would result.:)

That and the fact that she had to share a body with Ben the intern made for some interesting scenes like when Ben's talking on the phone to Buffy and he's still dressed in Glory's dress.:)

The season 7 villians had a great introduction, but a poor middle and ending. The First nearly killed Angel, and had the best speech in the show. The Turok Han and Caleb nearly killed half the cast. But they die with good old fisticuffs.

Dark Willow also had the best pacing. It felt as if, we have to do something now to stop her, as opposed to the standred "Kiss, make up and let's go fight the bad guy routine before school's out" routine. She moved the plot along, as opposed to another mystical convergence in May.

I don't think I ever realized how much I appreciated Angelus until he showed up on Angel.

Other than him, the Master was awesome. But the Mayor was the best. No one greater than him.

I think that one of my favorite one ep villains was the one from the musical. He was cool. And he didn't die.

Yeah, Sweet, that's what I belive his name was. Yeah, not many Demon Lords have style to spare.

Master needed more screen time, and perhaps a real battle or two. For a guy who gets omens I expect more.

The Mayor was a great Buffy villian. Evil male authority figure mixed with light hearted comedy.

Caleb had so much potential.
