This movie probably had the most impressive cast of any MST3K film, with Peck, Hackman, Janssen, Franciscus, et. al. What a waste.

This is the only Oscar-winning film ever to be given the MSTK3K treatment.

It still deserves it.

Crow's uncanny Gregory Peck impersonation is the highlight of the episode, but there are plenty of fun riffs to go around.

"Anyone seen my Grecian Formula? Anyone...small bottle, says 'Greg' on it..."
"Here at Phillips Petroleum, we've found ways to replace the environment..."
"If you have a husband in space, press one. If you have a dead husband in space, press two."
"We suggest you start breathing in shifts."
"Excuse me, everyone, I have a date with a very special widow."
"I'm gonna do what Greg does!"

Richard Crenna: "One of us has to go."
Crow: "I think it should be ol' 'Zeppelin Lungs' Hackman!"

Hackman's wife: "I'm writing a book."
Joel: "It's called The Reluctant Astronaut Bites the Big One."

Some guy: "There isn't enough air for three men for that length of time."
Peck: "How about two men?"
Crow: "How about six midgets?"

When Richard Crenna decides to leave the capsule, sacrificing himself for the sakes of the others.
Joel *as admonishing mother*: "Richard, no. Don't you go out there. I don't want you out there."

Almost forgot:

Janssen: "Listen Keith, you launch this ship, you hear me? Launch!"
Crow *in his impeccable baritone Peck voice*: "I don't hear you, la la la I do not hear you, la la la la la..."

Does Tom Servo's reference to this film in last season's Fugitive Alien mean that he has already previously seen it? And that now the mads are forcing him to sit through it again?
