This has got to be the worst episode of the 2nd season. Also, the suits the astronauts wear on the ship look like the ones the Bloodhound Gang wore in that video shot (they look like monkey suits with big ears). I heard the guys were fans. Coincidence??
Brinkman: “Your latest invention?”
Durant: “Oh, nothing special.”
Crow: “You can say that again!”
Brinkman: “Sumiko!”
Crow (as Sumiko): “I will as soon as my lawyer gets here!”
Sumiko: “Have I changed that much?”
Joel: “Yeah, you used to be a Swedish man!”
(The crew wear spacesuits that make them look like Ewoks)
Tom (singing): “This is the day the teddy bears fly to Veeeeenus.”
Brinkman: “It’s thanks to [the autobots] that we are relieved of many tiresome tasks.”
Crow: “Like acting.”
Heringway: “Our speed?”
Durant: “Constant.”
Crow (as Heringway): “My hair?” (as Durant) “Fully coiffed, sir.”
Brinkman: “If we continue at maximum speed, it’ll mean disaster.”
(Dramatic music.)
Joel (as Brinkman): “And stop that nutty horn section.”
(Durant gets into his spacesuit with a square helmet)
Crow: “A human and a salt shaker fused into one. That’ll put some spice in his life!”
Orloff: “This can only mean an attack against our planet.”
(More dramatic music.)
Tom: “With timpanies.”
“Well, at least we have our Ewok suits to cheer us up.”
(The ship starts to descend over Venus)
Tom (shouting over the noise): “The papers wanna know whose shirts you wear!”
Brinkman: “Heringway, shall we keep going?”
Tom: “Joel, what’s a Heringway?”
Joel: “About a pound.”
(The ‘magma’ chasing the crew looks more like chocolate sauce)
“Ann-Margret must be around here somewhere.”
“Get into the metal cars! We’ll be safe from the lightning in here!”
“Hey, look! Venusian blinds!”
Chen Yu: “How is Heringway?”
Crow: “About a pound ...... Umm ...”
(Miscellaneous extras stand around waiting for the rocket to land. A couple of Japanese men run to join them)
Crow (as Japanese guy): “Godzilla! Godz... Oh, sorry, wrong movie.”
Heringway: “Let us honour the memory of three great men ...”
Tom: “... standing right here.”
Heringway: “Danuwa saved the expedition from disaster; Chen Yu discovered life on Venus; and Brinkman ...”
Joel: “... screamed like a baby when we flew off and left him.”
Heringway: “May they never be forgotten.”
Tom: “So, lunch, everybody?”
Orloff: “We still have a grave task before us.”
Joel: “Covering the whole thing up.”
This movie was an East German/Polish production. It made its way over to North America, where the actors were dubbed over, of course.
Not bad for a Commie made movie.
