Hopefully this is the title of the first episode of season three, if not that is what I'm commenting on. I had to watch it online because I missed it last night but I wasn't very impressed; it's just getting too weird now.

SPOILERS!!

How did Sylar know where Claire lived; why was Noah's files laying out; since when has Suresh been so power hungry; where was that speedster hiding(she asked Hiro a very good question); how did Linderman live from getting his head hollowed out; why did Sulu tell Hiro about the safe if that formula could potentially destroy the world...? I also don't buy Peter going back in time to shoot his brother just so he'd keep quiet. There isn't any other way, or time, to do that? Mohinder was able to discover how these abilities manifest themselves and create an injection that could give anybody powers in a day? I don't think so; and he's pretty fortunate what abilities he obtained also.

The thing with Sylar is getting pretty lame. This whole lets give the bad-guy all the advantages premise is old but it worked for the first season. Gabriel said "that's disgusting" when Claire asked him if he was going to eat her brain, so what did he do with them before? He told Claire the powers he stole were gone, so how did he still have his telekinesis? That isn't his original ability! Apparently he has to feel around a person's brain to find out how their powers work, and then somehow alter himself to get them, but he was able to see the difference in the first guy he killed, why cant he do it from outside the skull? Sylar told Claire he couldn't kill her if he wanted to; so she wasn't dead with that stick in her head, or Peter with the glass? All you have to do is cut these people's heads off, or interrupt brain functions. So now I guess we're suppose to believe Mr. Grey is immortal, which also means he'll be back each and every week to be an ominous threat tour our beloved heroes. Stay tuned listeners!

Me: to be an ominous threat tour our beloved heroes.
That's supposed to be to our

I know that previews always lie (PAL) but they made a big deal that somebody was going to die last season, apparently it didn't take, or only one of Nikki/Jessica/... personalities died. I now have a guess as to what Peter & Nathan's mother's ability is, she can see through time, but not actually travel or change it except in the present.

I think she has the dream power that we saw Peter use during the first season. She even mentions that to Future Peter when she confronts him.

This was a fracking weird episode.

So WTF *did* Sylar do to Claire?

By inblackestnight on Friday, September 26, 2008 - 6:13 pm:

He just obtained her ability by sticking his thumb in the lower part of her brain, after giving her a little neurology lesson, but didn't kill her because evidently she can't die. That reminds me, if Sylar 'couldn't kill her even if he wanted to' then why all the suspense from the first season about "save the cheerleader to save the world?"

By gelzyme2 on Sunday, September 28, 2008 - 9:13 pm:

I don't even want to start listing all of the things that I found wrong with the season opener, so I won't. But I will comment on the Claire issue:

If she heals, how is it that she suddenly can't feel anything? What could possibly have happened to change her in this way?

By inblackestnight on Monday, September 29, 2008 - 9:13 am:

There are no nerve endings in the brain, which I think Sylar points out, so she wouldn't be able to feel him poking around in there; the area of her skull he sliced up on the other hand is a different story. If Claire can't die, and her ability is still intact, why didn't the severed part of her skull simply heal without the crown or top part?

I hear ya gelzyme2, the premiere was filled with plot holes.

By ScottN on Monday, September 29, 2008 - 9:54 am:

In addition to the plot holes, everyone was acting out of character. I wonder if these eps were written during the strike?

And I know that PAL, but there is no way in hell that Bennet would work with Sylar, even if Mrs. Petrelli told him to. Not after what he did to Claire.

By Terik on Monday, September 29, 2008 - 4:31 pm:

Why does Future Peter have a scar? For one thing, he is able to heal. For another thing, he can look like Past Peter. So even if (for some reason) he can't heal completely, he can still appear without a scar. Unless it takes a lot of effort.

By inblackestnight on Monday, September 29, 2008 - 7:28 pm:

I was wondering that to. I think that's the same scar from the future in the first season, perhaps it's so we know it's the future:-) It might take a some effort but he was able to transfer the present Peter's consciousness to an entirely other person, that's gotta be a little tough to, but probably only temporary.

By avandelay on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 - 12:37 pm:

I presumed he used his mirage ability to make Peter look like that inmate, if not, what happened to Peter's body?

Why didn't future Pete use invisibility when shooting (and later spying on) Nathan?

By inblackestnight on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 - 2:56 pm:

All good points art, didn't think of those. That guy was yelling "I'm Peter Petrelli(?)" the whole time we see the cells, where Noah is in the last one, and only before the picture fades away does Noah notice what he's saying.

By Callie on Thursday, October 02, 2008 - 2:55 am:

Why couldn't Sylar get into the closet where Claire was? He'd managed to telekinetically close and lock all the doors and shove furniture around from upstairs, but he couldn't open a simple door with a chain around it?! Or was he just playing with Claire to wind her up?

With just about everyone else coming back from the dead at some time or other, how long before Isaac makes a reappearance?!
